EN→NLAs an affordable gaming notebook, the Sword 17 (A12UD) has some shortcomings, which are expected. Some of them are disappointing – like the short battery life (only 4 hours of light use at once). Others are surprisingly negligible – all plastic feels good to the touch, and frankly doesn’t compromise the structural integrity of the device.MSI Sword 17 (A12UD)’s IPS panel has a Full HD resolution, comfortable viewing angles, and a good contrast ratio. The display doesn’t use PWM for brightness adjustment, but unfortunately – covers only 53% of the sRGB color gamut. It is good that it has a 144Hz refresh rate, but we measured a rather slow pixel response time. However, there is one feature that could have been better without the need of spending more money – the keyboard. While its key travel is decently long, the feedback is too soft for comfortable typing and gaming. On the bright side, the cooling is quite capable. Well, that’s true only when you use the CoolerBoost option, which not only blows the heat away but also your eardrums. Plus, the upgrade options are on point – two SODIMM memory slots(albeit for DDR4 RAM), and one M.2 PCIe x4 Gen 4 slot for storage. Again, unfortunately, there is very little insulation between the motherboard and the keyboard, which leads to excessive heat in the center part of the keyboard. Add to that the lack of an SD card reader, and the neutered USB Type-C 3.2 (Gen. 1) port, and you can easily be disappointed. The good thing is that the Sword 17 (A12UD) supports Gigabit Ethernet connectivity. So, if you are into gaming, but you don’t have a huge budget for the best on the market, the Sword 17 (A12UD) will surely have popped on your radar. However, the Nitro 5 (AN517-55) is arguably a better option.

Ik was op zoek naar vervanging voor een schoollaptop, om op te kunnen gamen. Ik heb deze laptop sinds november en het verschil is enorm. De kracht is geweldig en het beeldscherm is haarscherp. De laptop moet je wel altijd in de oplader hebben, even Youtuben is mogelijk zonder de oplader, maar de batterij zal het niet lang volhouden. Ook de performance is slecht zonder de batterij op te laden, echter is dit bij alle gaming laptops. Het geluid van de fans is te horen, maar valt nog redelijk mee als je een headset draagt, ook dit is bij alle gaming laptops. hitte van de ventilator is goed te doen, echter heb ik dit nog niet meegemaakt in de zomer; wellicht is dat anders. 2TB opslag en 32GB is erg fijn. Kortom: Zeker een van de beste prijs/kwaliteitsverhoudingingen qua gaming laptops!

EN→NLThe MSI Sword 17 HX B14V isn’t perfect but it delivers a strong gaming performance alongside good comfort under full loads (for such a device). Also, the chassis may be made of plastic but it’s solid for the most part. The RGB Gaming keyboard is great for both typing and gaming. The optional 17″ 1600p 240Hz display (AUO B170QAN01.2 (AUO84A6)) is perhaps the main event here. This snappy IPS unit impresses with a 452 cd/m2 max brightness and full sRGB and DCI-P3 coverage. The panel is an unpolished gem in terms of color accuracy. With the aid of our “Design and Gaming” profile, the default average dE score is enhanced from a 2.9 to 0.9 result which is a notable improvement.

MSI: Micro-Star International (MSI) werd in 1986 opgericht in Taiwan. MSI is vooral bekend als fabrikant van moederborden en grafische kaarten voor pc's, maar biedt ook computeraccessoires, complete systemen, moederborden, grafische kaarten, laptops, desktop-pc's, monitoren en andere componenten. De merknaam Microstar behoort in Duitsland echter toe aan het bedrijf Medion. MSI staat bekend om zijn gamingproducten en heeft een breed scala aan gaminglaptops en desktop-pc's ontwikkeld. Het bedrijf is ook actief in werkstations, servers en industriële automatisering. MSI heeft kantoren in Noord-Amerika, Europa, Azië en Australië.
Deze middenklasse grafische kaarten kunnen alle huidige spellen vloeiend spelen. Veeleisende spellen kunnen alleen met gemiddelde detail instellingen gespeeld worden.

Grafische kaart voor gaminglaptops uit het middensegment, gebaseerd op de Ampere GA107-chip.
Deze grafische kaarten zouden de meeste moderne spellen op een hoge resolutie en hoge details moeten kunnen draaien (enkele uitzonderingen zijn mogelijk).

High-end grafische kaart voor laptops gebaseerd op de Ada Lovelace-architectuur. Biedt 8 GB GDDR6 (128 bit) en is configureerbaar met een TGP van 35 - 115 W (+ Dynamic Boost).

Een op Alder-Lake gebaseerde mobiele processor met 6 prestatiekernen en 8 efficiënte kernen. De prestatiekernen bieden hyper-threading, waardoor 20 threads kunnen worden verwerkt. De processor werkt op frequenties van 1,7 tot 4,7 GHz en ondersteunt vPro.
Intel Raptor Lake-HX:
i7-14700HX: High-end mobiele hybride processor gebaseerd op de Raptor Lake architectuur met 20 cores (8 prestatie- en 12 efficiëntiekernen) en 28 threads.
