Ik zocht een "ultra mobile" laptop voor eigen gebruik en ben uiteindelijk op deze uitgekomen. Belangrijkste redenen waren de cpu, het formaat en het scherm. Dankzij de Intel Lunar Lake CPU is deze laptop zowel snel (in de meeste huis tuin en keuken taken dan) als zuinig en gaat dus lang mee op de batterij en is stil. Veel andere laptops in dit segment hebben een Qualcomm ARM CPU en dat leek me geen goed idee i.v.m. compatabiliteitsproblemen. Snellere Intel/AMD CPUs zijn dan weer grotere energieslurpers met dito lage batterijduur, hogere temperatuur en fan noise. Daarnaast is dit een van de weinige 15.3 inch laptops die nog "ultra mobile" genoemd kan worden: de meeste concurrenten zijn 14 inch, wat ik toch net iets te klein vind. Wellicht is 14.5 - 15 inch de sweet spot, maar daarin is dan weer bijna niks te krijgen.

EN→NLThe Lenovo Yoga Slim 7i Aura Edition sure brings some interesting features to the table. The design does not stand out, but it still looks premium and elegant. The IPS touchscreen display works well in most cases, but if you are someone who wants those contrasty colours and inky deep blacks, then going with the non-touch OLED version would make more sense. The performance is on par with the rest of the Intel Lunar Lake laptops available in the market. The AI features look good but still need some polishing. On the other hand, the stiff hinge could be a turn-off for some. Moreover, the touchpad on this laptop was disappointing. That said, if you are looking for a reliable, thin and light machine that can handle most of the tasks and offer a soft-key keyboard with great audio, then you can surely consider this one.

The 15.3-inch display is beautiful, the keyboard is great for typing, and the battery life is actually dependable. Yes, there are some areas where it could be better — the lack of an OLED display, a slightly average trackpad, and features like Smart Modes not being automatic. But overall, the experience has been solid, and I’ve genuinely enjoyed using this laptop every day. At a starting price of around Rs 1,32,000 (Ultra 7 256V + 16GB RAM + 512GB storage), it’s not cheap — but when you compare it to other premium ultrabooks with similar specs, it actually offers good value. If you want a big screen, premium design, and reliable all-around performance in a machine that’s easy to carry, the Yoga Slim 7i Aura Edition is worth considering.

EN→NLThe Lenovo Yoga Slim 7 is a great-looking laptop, with a keyboard that I really like for its softer typing action. There’s a great display, too, offering vibrant and sharp images, with enough brightness to cut through reflections and to remain looking good in pretty much all conditions. Intel’s Core Ultra 7 offers great power and performance for daily tasks too, with a nice graphical bump over older integrated hardware, so you don’t feel like you can’t keep up. While the battery life perhaps isn’t as long as you might expect in this era of next-gen hardware, for most people it will see you through a typical day without having to worry about constant charging. All in all, the Lenovo Yoga Slim 7 represents what you want from an ultraportable: great for productivity through long days, with surprising graphical punch when you need it.

Intel Arc 140V: Een behoorlijk snelle geïntegreerde grafische adapter die naar verluidt bepaalde Intel Lunar Lake processors gebruiken. De 140V heeft 8 kernen met Xe²-architectuur die draaien op maximaal 2.050 MHz en 8 ray tracing-eenheden; hij is geschikt voor DirectX 12 Ultimate en ondersteunt ook alle moderne videocodecs. Als recente uitgelekte benchmarkscores een indicatie zijn, zullen de gamingprestaties iets beter zijn dan die van de GeForce MX570.
Deze grafische kaarten zouden alle huidige spellen moeten kunnen draaien, maar de meeste spellen zullen alleen met gemiddelde of lage detail instellingen en lage resoluties goed werken. Oudere of minder veeleisende spellen kunnen nog wel met goede grafische instellingen gespeeld worden.

Core Ultra 7 258V: Een processor uit de Lunar Lake familie voor het hogere middensegment. Dit is een SoC voor gebruik in slankere laptops en tablets met 4 nieuwe E-cores en 4 nieuwe P-cores op maximaal 4,8 GHz, samen met de veelbelovende nieuwe Arc 140V iGPU en 32 GB on-package LPDDR5x-8533 RAM. Een nieuwe 47 TOPS neurale engine, TB 4 en PCIe 5 SSD ondersteuning zijn ook inbegrepen.
