It’s a 17-inch workstation, thus bulky, heavy and expensive, but at the same time highly configurable, built to last and deliver solid performance in taxing chores. If you’re not primarily looking for such a device that can benefit from the powerful CPUs, Quadro GPUs, multiple storage and extra RAM, you’ll most likely find better value with other types of products.

It actually has a stronger overall performance (Xeon E-2176M CPU, 32GB of RAM), a faster SSD and a more vivid 4K panel than the ThinkPad P72. However, you'd be losing out on some graphics performance, as it has a Quadro P2000 GPU. If you want top-notch graphics performance, the ThinkPad P72 is a solid option, but it's not our top workstation pick for this size display.

Sure, it's thick, heavy, and it gets terrible battery life, but those are the sacrifices you can expect to make in the name of power, which is presumably what you want if you're even reading this review.

Lenovo: Lenovo ("Le" uit de Engelse legende, novo (Latijn voor nieuw) werd in 1984 opgericht als Chinees handelsbedrijf in computers. In 2004 was het bedrijf de grootste laptopfabrikant in China en, na de overname van IBM's pc-divisie in 2005, de op drie na grootste ter wereld. Naast desktops en notebooks produceert het bedrijf monitoren, projectors, servers, enz. en is het gespecialiseerd in de ontwikkeling, productie en marketing van consumentenelektronica, pc's, software, bedrijfsoplossingen en aanverwante diensten.
In 2016 stond het bedrijf op de eerste plaats in de wereld wat betreft computerverkopen. Dit was in 2023 nog steeds het geval, met een wereldwijd marktaandeel van ongeveer 23%. Belangrijke productlijnen zijn Thinkpad, Legion en Ideapad.
In 2011 verwierf het een meerderheidsbelang in Medion AG, een Europese fabrikant van computerhardware. In 2014 werd Motorola Mobility gekocht, wat Lenovo een boost gaf op de smartphonemarkt.
Deze grafische kaarten zouden alle huidige spellen moeten kunnen draaien, maar de meeste spellen zullen alleen met gemiddelde of lage detail instellingen en lage resoluties goed werken. Oudere of minder veeleisende spellen kunnen nog wel met goede grafische instellingen gespeeld worden.
NVIDIA Quadro P2000:
Deze middenklasse grafische kaarten kunnen alle huidige spellen vloeiend spelen. Veeleisende spellen kunnen alleen met gemiddelde detail instellingen gespeeld worden.

Intel Coffee Lake:
i7-8750H:
Coffee-Lake-gebaseerde processor voor grote en zware laptops. Integreert zes processor-cores geklokt aan 2.2 - 4.1 GHz (4 GHz met 4 cores, 3.9 GHz met 6 cores) met ondersteuning voor HyperThreading. Gefabricreerd in een verbeterd 14nm-proces (14nm++).

Normaal hebben laptops met een 17 inch schermdiagonaal dit gewicht. Dit is redelijk zwaar voor een 15 inch laptops maar aanvaardbaar voor toestellen bedoeld voor stationair gebruik.
