In the ultra-notebook segment, the Asus ExpertBook B9 450F (review) offers a lot more at a smaller price, albeit without the secondary screen. The Dell XPS 13 is another capable notebook with excellent design and sleek performance. One might also consider the Mi Notebook 14 Horizon Edition (review), which costs almost a third but delivers a comprehensive package for its price.

One thing we didn’t really like is that it only has one USB Type-C port. Overall, the entire port selection is a bit modest (not as modest as the MacBooks, though), as it lacks an RJ-45 connector and an SD card reader, but what frustrates us the most is that the single USB Type-C port is used for charging. So, if you are charging your laptop, or ultimately want to get the maximum performance out of it, you can’t connect an external monitor or an eGPU.

If it weren’t for the annoying software and compatibility issues, I would be left with a black hole where the money in my wallet used to be. The only thing that could fill that hole would be the tenuous sense of optimism that the screen or rolling mechanism would continue working for months or years down the road. I could only keep that upbeat attitude going for so long. The thought of my $3,300 laptop breaking is enough to have me roll up on my back with my legs and arms as erect as the ThinkBook Plus Gen 6 Rollable, like a cockroach about to croak.

Lenovo: Lenovo ("Le" uit de Engelse legende, novo (Latijn voor nieuw) werd in 1984 opgericht als Chinees handelsbedrijf in computers. In 2004 was het bedrijf de grootste laptopfabrikant in China en, na de overname van IBM's pc-divisie in 2005, de op drie na grootste ter wereld. Naast desktops en notebooks produceert het bedrijf monitoren, projectors, servers, enz. en is het gespecialiseerd in de ontwikkeling, productie en marketing van consumentenelektronica, pc's, software, bedrijfsoplossingen en aanverwante diensten.

In 2016 stond het bedrijf op de eerste plaats in de wereld wat betreft computerverkopen. Dit was in 2023 nog steeds het geval, met een wereldwijd marktaandeel van ongeveer 23%. Belangrijke productlijnen zijn Thinkpad, Legion en Ideapad.

In 2011 verwierf het een meerderheidsbelang in Medion AG, een Europese fabrikant van computerhardware. In 2014 werd Motorola Mobility gekocht, wat Lenovo een boost gaf op de smartphonemarkt.

Als recente uitgelekte benchmarkscores een indicatie zijn, zullen de gamingprestaties iets beter zijn dan die van de GeForce MX570.
