Lisa Gade reviews a new ThinkBook 15.6” laptop from Lenovo that targets content creators who don’t want to spend crazy money for a powerful and stylish laptop. The ThinkBook 15P runs Windows 10 Pro on Intel 10th gen 45 watt CPUs up to the 8-core i7. It has NVIDIA GTX 1650 Ti Max-Q graphics, and a full HD IPS or wide gamut 10 bit 4k display (both matte non-touch). It has a 2-tone aluminum lid and rigid build quality though it’s reasonably slim and light. The laptop has upgradeable RAM and storage, Wi-Fi 6, a fingerprint scanner and a webcam privacy shutter. Don’t confuse it with the Lenovo ThinkPad P15 mobile workstation that’ll also be reviewing.

EN→NLHere's the good news: this is an excellent overall PC. It does a lot right, with a beautiful 4K display, an excellent keyboard, and more. It also does a lot wrong, such as not including DisplayPort out in the USB Type-C port. I'd also love to have seen better ports in general, a larger trackpad, and an IR camera. Still, you get a lot for the price.

EN→NLKeep in mind that the ThinkBook 15p sits in an area of the market, that’s between the business and the content creator segments. So, if you’re in for both of them, it’s not a bad choice. However, if you need more performance, MSI’s Creator 15 A10Sx packs a lot of power, but you need to have deeper pockets.

NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1650 Ti Max-Q: Grafische kaart uit het middensegment voor laptops die gebruik maken van een Turing TU117 chip zonder raytracing en Tensor kernen. Draait met lagere kloksnelheden dan een laptop GTX 1650 Ti om een veel lager stroomverbruik te bereiken (35 versus 50 - 80 Watt).
Deze middenklasse grafische kaarten kunnen alle huidige spellen vloeiend spelen. Veeleisende spellen kunnen alleen met gemiddelde detail instellingen gespeeld worden.

i7-10750H:
Een krachtige hexa-core processor ontworpen voor de dikkere laptops met ruimte voor betere thermiek. De Comet Lake-H-processor is vervaardigd op het third-gen 14 nm Intel-proces en is voorzien van de UHD Graphics 630 iGPU geklokt op 350 MHz tot 1.150 MHz. De CPU-kernen draaien op 2,6 GHz (basiskloksnelheid) met een boost tot 5 GHz en de waarschijnlijke all-core Boost-frequentie is 4,3 GHz. Hyper-Threading ondersteuning is ingeschakeld, waardoor twee threads gelijktijdig kunnen draaien op elke core.

15.60": 15-16 inch is een standaard schermgrootte voor laptops en dekt de grootste variëteit aan producten.

1.9 kg: Gewoonlijk hebben subnotebooks, ultrabooks en redelijk lichte laptops met een 12-16 inch schermdiagonaal dit gewicht.
Lenovo: Lenovo ("Le" uit de Engelse legende, novo (Latijn voor nieuw) werd in 1984 opgericht als Chinees handelsbedrijf in computers. In 2004 was het bedrijf de grootste laptopfabrikant in China en, na de overname van IBM's pc-divisie in 2005, de op drie na grootste ter wereld. Naast desktops en notebooks produceert het bedrijf monitoren, projectors, servers, enz. en is het gespecialiseerd in de ontwikkeling, productie en marketing van consumentenelektronica, pc's, software, bedrijfsoplossingen en aanverwante diensten.
In 2016 stond het bedrijf op de eerste plaats in de wereld wat betreft computerverkopen. Dit was in 2023 nog steeds het geval, met een wereldwijd marktaandeel van ongeveer 23%. Belangrijke productlijnen zijn Thinkpad, Legion en Ideapad.
In 2011 verwierf het een meerderheidsbelang in Medion AG, een Europese fabrikant van computerhardware. In 2014 werd Motorola Mobility gekocht, wat Lenovo een boost gaf op de smartphonemarkt.
80%: Dit cijfer is niet echt overtuigend. Het moet in acht worden genomen dat er bijna geen laptops zijn die een score onder de 60% hebben. Dit notebook is beneden gemiddeld beoordeeld, en is niet aanbevolen te kopen.
