Responstijd Scherm

De responstijden van het scherm tonen hoe snel het scherm in staat is om van één kleur naar de andere te veranderen. Trage responstijden kunnen aanleiding geven tot 'nabeelden' rond bewegende objecten of het scherm wazig maken (blur). Vooral spelers van snelle 3D-games hebben baat bij een scherm met snelle responstijden.

Dit betekent dat de gemeten responstijd slechter is dan het gemiddelde (25.5 ms) van alle geteste toestellen.

Dit betekent dat de gemeten responstijd vergelijkbaar is met het gemiddelde (40.8 ms) van alle geteste toestellen.

Screen Flickering / PWM (Pulse-Width Modulation)

Om de schermhelderheid te verlagen schakelen sommige laptops het backlight erg snel aan en uit. Dit gebeurt aan een dergelijk hoge frequentie dat het niet zichtbaar is voor het menselijk oog. Als de frequentie te laag is kunnen personen met gevoelige ogen geïrriteerd geraken, hoofdpijn krijgen en zelfs flickering waarnemen.
Screen flickering / PWM waargenomen 20490 Hz ≤ 99 % helderheid instelling

Het backlight van het scherm flikkert aan 20490 Hz (hoogstwaarschijnlijk met PWM - Pulse-Width Modulation) aan een helderheid van 99 % en lager. Boven deze helderheid zou er geen flickering / PWM mogen optreden.

De frequentie van 20490 Hz is redelijk hoog en de meeste mensen die gevoelig zijn aan flickering zouden dit dus niet mogen waarnemen of geïrriteerde ogen krijgen.

Ter vergelijking: 52 % van alle geteste toestellen maakten geen gebruik van PWM om de schermhelderheid te verlagen. Als het wel werd gebruikt, werd een gemiddelde van 9868 (minimum: 43 - maximum: 142900) Hz waargenomen.

De Medion Erazer X6805 biedt heel wat waar voor je geld. De meeste goedkope gaming-laptops zijn uitgerust met een Core i5-8300H-CPU, een GeForce GTX 1050 Ti, 8 GB RAM en een SSD van 128 GB. Medion is echter een stap verder gegaan en bewapent zijn X6805 met een Core i7-8750H-GPU, een GeForce GTX 1060-GPU, 16 GB RAM en een PCIe-SSD van 256 GB.

Het geïntegreerde mechanische toetsenbord is een ongewone, maar slimme keuze voor een toestel van deze prijs. Daarnaast zullen de RGB-verlichting en de stevige behuizing in de smaak vallen bij gamers. De luidsprekers en poortselectie zijn eveneens degelijk, al hadden we graag ook een Thunderbolt 3 of USB 3.1 Gen2-poort gezien.

De Medion Erazer X6805 is een krachtige en degelijke budget-gamer die niet ten onder gaat aan zijn tekortkomingen.

Medion zou de X6805 wel een snellere SD-kaartlezer mogen geven en de standaard "fan curve" bijstellen. Daarnaast zou het toestel baat hebben bij een optie voor een grotere batterij in plaats van de HDD. Toch kunnen we de Medion Erazer X6805 zonder enige twijfel aanbevelen als een van de beste goedkope gaming-laptops op de markt.
