Als je zijn formaat en gewicht door de vingers kan zien, is de MSI GT75 8RG een hoogwaardige, prima uitgeruste en ongelooflijk krachtige desktopvervanger die doet denken aan de klassieke PC-torens. De GT75 biedt talrijke opties voor onderhoud en upgrades en een grote variëteit aan poorten.
Daarnaast integreert MSI een bliksemsnel 120-Hz-scherm met nauwkeurige kleuren en een degelijk geluidssysteem. De invoerapparatuur is al even indrukwekkend. Een van de hoogtepunten van de GT75 is zijn mechanische toetsenbord, dat een typervaring biedt die de concurrentie ver achter zich laat.
We kunnen de GT75 8RG echter niet onvoorwaardelijk aanbevelen. Net als bij zijn voorganger is het storende ventilatorgeluid een ernstig minpunt. Hoewel het 17-inch-toestel bijna 6 cm dik is, zijn de ventilatoren extreem luid onder belasting; zo luid dat je een koptelefoon nodig hebt om comfortabel te kunnen gamen. Hetzelfde geldt voor de Aorus X9 DT, al is dit toestel slechts 3 cm dik. De vergelijkbare prestaties van de Aorus tonen aan dat MSI's koeling nog wat te wensen over laat.
