Responstijd Scherm

De responstijden van het scherm tonen hoe snel het scherm in staat is om van één kleur naar de andere te veranderen. Trage responstijden kunnen aanleiding geven tot 'nabeelden' rond bewegende objecten of het scherm wazig maken (blur). Vooral spelers van snelle 3D-games hebben baat bij een scherm met snelle responstijden.

Het scherm vertoonde prima responstijden in onze tests maar is misschien wat te traag voor competitieve games.
Ter vergelijking: alle testtoestellen variëren van 0.8 (minimum) tot 240 (maximum) ms. » 35 % van alle toestellen zijn beter.
Dit betekent dat de gemeten responstijd vergelijkbaar is met het gemiddelde (24.6 ms) van alle geteste toestellen.

Het scherm vertoonde trage responstijden in onze tests en is misschien te traag voor games.
Ter vergelijking: alle testtoestellen variëren van 0.9 (minimum) tot 636 (maximum) ms. » 27 % van alle toestellen zijn beter.
Dit betekent dat de gemeten responstijd beter is dan het gemiddelde (39 ms) van alle geteste toestellen.

Screen Flickering / PWM (Pulse-Width Modulation)

Om de schermhelderheid te verlagen schakelen sommige laptops het backlight erg snel aan en uit. Dit gebeurt aan een dergelijk hoge frequentie dat het niet zichtbaar is voor het menselijk oog. Als de frequentie te laag is kunnen personen met gevoelige ogen geïrriteerd geraken, hoofdpijn krijgen en zelfs flickering waarnemen.
Screen flickering / PWM niet waargenomen

Ter vergelijking: 51 % van alle geteste toestellen maakten geen gebruik van PWM om de schermhelderheid te verlagen. Als het wel werd gebruikt, werd een gemiddelde van 17916 (minimum: 5 - maximum: 2500000) Hz waargenomen.

De Asus TUF A15 FA506 is een gaming-laptop met geweldige hardware voor een eerlijke prijs. Het apparaat kan worden gekocht bij verschillende online winkels voor minder dan 1300 euro en wordt geleverd met de gloednieuwe AMD Ryzen 7 4800H CPU, die dankzij zijn acht cores beter presteert dan zijn Intel-tegenhanger. Deze processor is een solide gaming-CPU en geschikt als basis voor een gaming-machine, die zelfs zeer veeleisende games met maximale details draait in combinatie met de Nvidia GeForce RTX 2060.

Over weergavekwaliteit gesproken, het geïnstalleerde scherm biedt een geweldige contrastverhouding en een snelle verversingssnelheid van 144 Hz. Verder is er geen PWM en dus ook geen extra vermoeide ogen bij langdurig gebruik. Dat gezegd hebbende, waren we teleurgesteld over het kleine kleurengamma. De behuizing is redelijk, hoewel het ons vanwege de volledig plastic constructie niet volledig weet te overtuigen. Daarentegen hebben we helemaal geen klachten als het gaat om ruwe prestaties, die gedeeltelijk kunnen worden toegeschreven aan de AMD SoC. Vergelijkbare apparaten in deze prijsklasse zijn doorgaans beperkt tot 6-core processors. Het is moeilijk om te klagen over twee extra cores voor dezelfde prijs.

Met goede prestaties en een scherpe prijs is de Asus TUF A15 FA506 zeker het overwegen waard als je op zoek bent naar een goedkope gaming laptop.

Verder is de accuduur verrassend goed, wat niet vanzelfsprekend is, zeker niet op een gaming-notebook. Als je geïnteresseerd bent in dit systeem, zijn RAM en opslagupgrade-opties de moeite van overwegen waard. Helaas is ons model alleen uitgerust met de absolute minimale geheugenconfiguratie voor een gaming-laptop. Dat gezegd hebbende, 8 GB RAM en 512 GB SSD-opslag zijn nog steeds voldoende voor veel taken en applicaties.
