Responstijd Scherm

De responstijden van het scherm tonen hoe snel het scherm in staat is om van één kleur naar de andere te veranderen. Trage responstijden kunnen aanleiding geven tot 'nabeelden' rond bewegende objecten of het scherm wazig maken (blur). Vooral spelers van snelle 3D-games hebben baat bij een scherm met snelle responstijden.

Het scherm vertoonde prima responstijden in onze tests maar is misschien wat te traag voor competitieve games.

Dit betekent dat de gemeten responstijd beter is dan het gemiddelde (24.9 ms) van alle geteste toestellen.

Screen Flickering / PWM (Pulse-Width Modulation)

Om de schermhelderheid te verlagen schakelen sommige laptops het backlight erg snel aan en uit. Dit gebeurt aan een dergelijk hoge frequentie dat het niet zichtbaar is voor het menselijk oog. Als de frequentie te laag is kunnen personen met gevoelige ogen geïrriteerd geraken, hoofdpijn krijgen en zelfs flickering waarnemen.
Screen flickering / PWM niet waargenomen

Ter vergelijking: 50 % van alle geteste toestellen maakten geen gebruik van PWM om de schermhelderheid te verlagen. Als het wel werd gebruikt, werd een gemiddelde van 17077 (minimum: 5 - maximum: 2500000) Hz waargenomen.

De AORUS X7 DT v8 borduurt voort op Gigabyte's traditie van slim ontworpen en krachtige gaming-laptops.

De X7 DT v8 scoort goed vanwege zijn stevige metalen behuizing, de ergonomische invoerapparaten en het contrastrijke 144 Hz en Full HD IPS-scherm.

De combinatie van een Nvidia GeForce GTX 1080 GPU, een 144 Hz-scherm en Nvidia G-Sync zorgen voor een soepele game-ervaring die maar weinig laptops kunnen evenaren. De hexa-core Intel Core i7-8850H-processor is nog vele jaren krachtig genoeg, terwijl de 16 GB DDR4 RAM en de NVMe SSD ervoor zorgen dat de X7 DT v8 vloeiende systeemprestaties biedt, ongeacht de toepassing die wordt gedraaid.

Deze hoogwaardige componenten gaan ten koste van de oppervlaktetemperatuur, het geluid van de ventilatoren en de levensduur van de batterij. De X7 DT v8 voelt heet aan, waarbij de ventilatoren zeer luid worden. Het hoge energieverbruik en gebrek aan grafische schakeltechnologie resulteert in een middelmatige levensduur van de batterij, zelfs met de enorme 94 Wh batterij. Luidsprekerkwaliteit is ook ondermaats en zou beter moeten zijn gezien het prijskaartje van de X7 DT v8.

Al met al is de AORUS X7 DT v8 een uitstekende gaming-laptop die terecht een plek in onze Top 10 lijst zal verkrijgen. Gigabyte heeft nét genoeg gedaan om de X7 DT v8 hoger te scoren dan zowel de met GTX 1080 uitgeruste Alienware 17 R4, als de 4K Razer Blade Pro en de GTX 1070-uitgeruste Schenker XMG Pro 17 en MSI GE73 8RF.
