De Huawei Matebook D 15 is niet het allernieuwste model en mede daarom is het heel aantrekkelijk geprijsd. Bij onder andere MediaMarkt koop je de bovenstaande uitvoering voor 629 euro. Kijk ook naar de meer recente modellen van deze laptop reeks als je nog krachtigere prestaties nodig hebt. Dit jaar kwam namelijk de Huawei Matebook 14 uit met een i5 of 97 van Intel en met 512GB aan intern geheugen.

De Matebook D15 heeft op mij een sterke indruk achter gelaten, het design, de performance en met name de samenwerking met mijn smartphone springen er bij mij bovenuit ten opzichte van de meeste laptops in dit segment. Zijn er snellere laptops? Vast wel, maar geen enkel ander merk maakt de samenwerking tussen Android en Windows zo makkelijk. Wat mij betreft is deze laptop een erg goede koop.

The HUAWEI MateBook D 15‘s HUAWEI Share feature is definitely a major selling point if you are using a HUAWEI smartphone, as it virtually eliminates the need for cables for transferring files between your phone and your laptop, which is something I do on a daily basis. If you don’t own a HUAWEI smartphone, it is still a pretty compelling package as its very portable for a 15.6″ laptop, although there are some drawbacks like non-upgradeable RAM, poor selection of I/O ports and a pretty basic display. For RM2499, it is pretty affordable, and it is almost possible to forgive some of the shortcomings, especially if you aren’t a heavy user. I would recommend the HUAWEI MateBook D 15 for students as its relatively inexpensive and definitely capable of some casual gaming, and if they use a HUAWEI smartphone, it makes their daily tasks even more convenient because students have a terrible habit of making groups in Whatsapp for discussions. Yes, you know who you are.

If there’s a phrase I’d use for the Huawei MateBook D 15, it’d be good enough. The display is good enough, the system’s performance is good enough to handle most workloads, there are a decent amount of ports, audio quality from the speakers is good enough, the webcam and mic are good enough for Skype calls. The battery life is also good enough for a 15.6-inch laptop.
