There is no other 17-incher at this price (currently) that has an 8-core processor and a GTX 1660 Ti. Period. The price/performance ratio here is on point. And speaking of performance… All hail the new CPU king. This processor is marginally faster even than the Core i9-9900K, placed inside of the Alienware Area-51m. Yep, a mobile processor comfortably beats a desktop one, having the same core count.

EN→NLAdditionally, this unit comes with a beefy 90Wh battery pack, which lasts for 10 hours and 41 minutes of Web browsing, and a bit more than 10 hours of video playback. This is very welcoming for a gaming machine, as the last time we saw such numbers was back in October when we reviewed the Dell G7 7700. Interestingly, considering its price tag, the TUF A17 (FA706) 2021 is one of the best gaming options on the market. Yes, there are a couple of things we would have loved to see – like something other than plastic for the build, and probably a cooling that performs a little bit better in gaming, but we are generally happy with the entire device. Once again, if the price is your main concern, chances are low that you can get something better for less money. However, let’s not forget that this is just the beginning, and a lot of RTX 3000 laptops are going to hit the market in the following weeks and months.

Also, some people say that Intel is preparing something interesting around the corner. Nevertheless, we don’t know how big that corner is, so for now Ryzen 5000H is the better option.

EN→NLThe Asus TUF Gaming F17's best attribute may be its price tag, but in this inflated PC market that may be enough. The laptop's performance won't blow you away, but it delivers acceptable 1080p gaming as long as you keep your expectations in check. The plastic chassis similarly won't win any awards, but with its large, high-refresh screen, the total package is all that a cash-strapped casual or mainstream gamer might need. There are some better values if you can stretch your budget (the MSI Katana GF66 and several Acer Nitro 5 models come to mind), but the F17 is a very fair big-screen deal, especially if you can grab it at a discount.

Asus: ASUSTeK Computer Inc. is een grote Taiwanese fabrikant van computerhardware gevestigd in Taipei, opgericht in 1989. Onder de merknaam Asus produceert het bedrijf een breed scala aan producten, waaronder laptops, desktops, moederborden, grafische kaarten, monitoren, smartphones en netwerkapparatuur, complete systemen en pc-onderdelen voor eindgebruikers.
Onder de merknaam ROG (Republic of Gamers) produceert ASUS gaming laptops die bij gamers bekend staan om hun krachtige specificaties, speciale grafische kaarten, schermen met hoge verversingssnelheid en geavanceerde koelsystemen.
Naast gaming wordt een breed scala aan notebooks aangeboden voor verschillende behoeften en budgetten, van ultraslanke en lichtgewicht ultrabooks tot veelzijdige 2-in-1 convertibles en budgetvriendelijke opties. In 2023 had Asus wereldwijd een marktaandeel van 7% op de pc-markt.
De klanttevredenheid over ASUS-notebooks heeft betrekking op de prestaties, de functies en de goede prijs-prestatieverhouding van ASUS-notebooks. Zoals bij elk merk zijn er echter af en toe meldingen van problemen zoals oververhitting, drivercompatibiliteit of problemen met de bouwkwaliteit.
Deze middenklasse grafische kaarten kunnen alle huidige spellen vloeiend spelen. Veeleisende spellen kunnen alleen met gemiddelde detail instellingen gespeeld worden.
NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1650 Ti Mobile:
Grafische kaart uit het middensegment voor laptops die gebruik maken van een Turing TU117 chip zonder raytracing en Tensor kernen. Moet iets sneller zijn dan een GTX 1650, maar is ook verkrijgbaar in verschillende varianten met een TGP variërend van 55 - 80 Watt (en twee pakketten).
NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1660 Ti Mobile:
Mid-range discrete grafische kaart voor laptops gebaseerd op de GTX 1660 Ti voor desktops en dus de Turing-architectuur zonder ray-tracing en Tensor-cores. De prestaties van de Max-P-variant zouden vergelijkbaar moeten zijn met die van een oudere GTX 1070.

Deze grafische kaarten zouden de meeste moderne spellen op een hoge resolutie en hoge details moeten kunnen draaien (enkele uitzonderingen zijn mogelijk).

Mobile octa-core-APU met Zen 2-cores geklokt aan 2.9 tot 4.2 GHz en een Vega-GPU met 7 CU's geklokt aan max. 1600 MHz.

Mobiele Octa-Core APU met Zen 3 cores geklokt op 3,2 tot 4,4 GHz en een Vega grafische kaart met 8 CU's geklokt op maximaal 2000 MHz.
Intel Tiger Lake:
i5-11400H:
Tiger Lake (H45-serie) gebaseerde high-end hexa-core SoC voor gaming laptops en werkstations. De zes CPU-kernen klokken met 2,7 - 4,5 GHz. De geïntegreerde UHD Graphics GPU biedt 32 kernen op maximaal 1,45 GHz. De chip is vervaardigd in het 10nm SuperFin (verbeterd 10nm) proces.
