De iPhone 8 Plus is een heel goede smartphone. Hij is razendsnel, hij maakt fantastische foto’s én ondersteunt draadloos opladen. Wat dat betreft hebben we niets te klagen over dit toestel….behalve dan dat de iPhone 7 Plus daar niet echt veel voor onder doet. Draadloos opladen kun je eenvoudig toevoegen met behulp van een hoesje, en dan blijven eigenlijk alleen de camera en de snelheid over. Die snelheid hebben we nog niet nodig en de camera is beter, maar ook weer niet zóveel beter. Kortom, heb je een iPhone 5 of 6, dan is de iPhone 8 (Plus) een mooie stap vooruit. Maar heb je een 6S of 7 Plus, dan heb je eigenlijk nauwelijks reden om dat te doen.

It comes with dual-cameras and a larger 6.3in AMOLED screen squeezed into a body that’s only slightly bigger than the iPhone 8 Plus, but comes at a small premium, costing around £820.

As I said, the one significant change here is the glass back. And this is needed to ensure the phone can make the best of wireless charging which Apple is ushering in with the iPhone 8 series. While Apple does not have a wireless charger of its own yet, I got to use the Belkin Boost Up wireless charging pad. Yes, it is quite convenient as you just need to place the phone on top for it to start charging — you need to be careful and keep it back in the middle for this to work. However, I found that wirelessly it takes a bit more time to charge that via the regular mode. Also, I am pretty sure you wont be carrying the wireless charger around in your office bag. This is meant to kept in one place: on your office table or chest of drawers and doesn’t really have mobile intentions.
