Voor mij is het een uitstekende aankoop geweest. De MacBook is een prachtig apparaat en werkt in de dagelijkse praktijk goed en snel. De unieke eigenschappen zullen voor sommigen een voordeel zijn en voor anderen juist een nadeel. Zie je dat echter als voordelen, dan heb je aan de MacBook echt een geweldige laptop, die qua kracht en snelheid in de praktijk gewoon zijn mannetje staat. Wel is de prijs even schrikken helaas.

Apple brengt bij de introductie van een nieuw model vaak nieuwe 'revisies' met hardware-updates uit om met de tijd mee te gaan. De 2017-uitvoering van de MacBook is zo'n kleine update en het resultaat is daar dan ook naar. De processor is in benchmarks tot een procent of twintig sneller, de ssd scoort hoger in onze synthetische benchmark en ook het toetsenbord is verbeterd. Daarmee heb je alle veranderingen wel gehad.

Overall, the MacBook is certainly worth the premium, but it's not a slam dunk. That's because Apple now offers a 13-inch MacBook Pro for the same $1,299 price as the MacBook, one that offers an additional USB-C port, Thunderbolt 3 and a faster Core i5 processor. However, that version of the Pro also weighs about a pound more than the 12-inch MacBook and has half as much storage (128GB vs 256GB). So if you prefer macOS, get the MacBook if you want to travel really light, but buy the Pro if you want something more versatile.

De meeste niet-veeleisende huidige games kunnen vloeiend draaien. Wees voorbereid op verminderde grafische weergave door lage detailinstellingen en lage resoluties. Toch verschaffen deze kaarten voldoende prestatie voor kantoor taken en video bekijken (niet voor HD videos).

Grote schermformaten laten hogere resoluties toe. Details zoals letters zijn groter. Anderzijds is het energieverbruik lager bij kleine schermdiagonalen en de toestellen zijn kleiner, lichter en goedkoper.
