I felt like this wasn’t really a laptop I should do basic work on. I mean, I don’t need to test if web browsing and email work. Just look at the specs! So I set this up to game, and I did test basic video editing. I really don’t play heavy games, and I am pretty anti-social, so I don’t get involved in online gaming. My basic gaming list is simple games that aren’t massively heavy, and this laptop just breezed through those. I am not a pixel peeper or a frame rate snob. I’m not examining the performance as closely as those of you considering buying this laptop.

Alienware 18 Area-51 Review: When performance means everything, this Alien has your back

I usually set up my review laptops with everything I need to get work done and also some play. The Alienware 18 Area-51 was different. This is like getting a Ferrari. I felt like this wasn’t really a laptop I should do basic work on. I mean, I don’t need to test if web browsing and email work. Just look at the specs! So I set this up to game, and I did test basic video editing. I really don’t play heavy games, and I am pretty anti-social, so I don’t get involved in online gaming. My basic gaming list is simple games that aren’t massively heavy, and this laptop just breezed through those. I am not a pixel peeper or a frame rate snob. I’m not examining the performance as closely as those of you considering buying this laptop.

Alienware: Alienware werd in 1996 opgericht in de VS. Het Europese hoofdkantoor is gevestigd in Ierland. Alienware maakt sinds 2006 deel uit van de Dell Group. Het productassortiment richt zich voornamelijk op gaming laptops en desktops, die ontwikkeld en geproduceerd worden door Dell. Het handelsmerk is een licht futuristisch ontwerp met een Alien als logo. Daarnaast worden er werkstations voor particulieren en bedrijven verkocht.
Zoals bij elk merk zijn er ook bij Alienware enkele punten van kritiek. Sommige klanten hebben geklaagd over de hoge prijzen van de producten, terwijl anderen kritiek hadden op de kwaliteit van de klantenservice. Er zijn ook enkele meldingen geweest van problemen met de betrouwbaarheid en duurzaamheid van sommige Alienware-producten. Veel klanten hebben echter ook positieve ervaringen met het merk en waarderen de krachtige spelcomputers.

Ultra 9 275HX: Mobiele high-end CPU voor gaming notebooks gebaseerd op de Arrow Lake architectuur.
