EN→NL Archive.org versionAs we said, this is not exactly a gaming notebook. It aims at a more broad audience, where neutral visuals are preferred. And Acer has definitely succeeded in providing this to their customers. The design is super incognito, there is no RGB, and you won’t get any of the gamer bloatware. On the downside, this prevents you from customizing your performance preferences, but you can always do that (even more efficiently) with some third-party software. Ultimately, the display is not groundbreaking. Instead, Acer relies on a rather affordable 1080p IPS panel that has comfortable viewing angles, and a good contrast ratio. Indeed, it covers only half of the colors on the Web, but at the end of the day, it doesn’t flicker at any brightness level. So, content creation will be out of the way, if you don’t get yourself an appropriate external display. Also, you won’t be getting SD card support either. On the other hand, the I/O is quite sufficient, and the cooling is on point with what the hardware offers. Amazingly, we would actually recommend this laptop.

EN→NLAt the end of 2.5 weeks with the laptop I was surprised how much value a $900 machine can bring. I’ve never felt that I’m using a cheap or underpowered laptop – Acer didn’t save on build quality or overall performance. However, it’s clear that corners were cut to meet even tighter budgets. And these cuts are clearly visible (the screen) or audible (the speaker).

EN→NLSee, the Aspire 7 (A715-43G) has more than 1 shortcoming. And if you compare it to a low-tier gaming machine, it might look a little underwhelming. However, it really establishes itself as a glorified office machine. Yes, there are some compromises that allow Acer to keep the price down. One of them is the plastic used all over the place, while the other is the aforementioned port cuts. Overall, it is difficult to recommend this device, but if you fall in the niche, where you want to have a lowkey notebook, that can run pretty much every game out there, then, the Aspire 7 will probably make the cut. However, if you don’t mind the more gamer-centric look, the Nitro 5 would be a better choice.

It has a decent battery life, it’s very affordable for the hardware it contains and it works really well when it comes to non-visual jobs. Unfortunately, the rather dull screen just isn’t good enough for visual, colour-sensitive work. The Acer Aspire 7 is a jack-of-many-trades, capable of doing several things to a relatively good standard but not specialising in any one element. And if it meets your needs, it’s a strong choice for the price, but if you’re looking for something more specialist — or a bright, accurate screen — you’d be better off looking elsewhere.

EN→NLWell, it looks like the Acer Aspire 7 (A715-76G) is one of the good options when it comes to affordable 15-inchers that can be used for almost any kind of load. The main event here is the cooling solution, it’s massive enough so the powerful Intel Core i5-12450H can maintain over 4GHz P cores frequency in short and medium-long stress. In longer loads, the P and E cores clocks are also high enough for snappy performance, while the temperatures are in check. The GeForce RTX 3050 (Laptop, 60W) is well-cooled (68°C) and that’s why it can maintain a stable 60W TGP in long gaming sessions. Speaking of temperatures, the NVMe of our device (512GB Western Digital PC SN740) is “freezing” even when it’s pounded with benchmarks for longer periods. The build quality is fine for the price category – the aluminum lid can be flexed if you want but it’s not super spongy which is okay.

EN→NLHaving spent a little less than a month with the Acer Aspire 7 A715-76G, I can confidently say that it has met many of my expectations for a mid-range multimedia laptop in today’s market. It is well-built and has a sleek exterior design, making it a great option for school, university, or office use. The laptop features a decent keyboard, touchpad, and screen, along with powerful hardware and performance that allows it to handle everyday tasks and even play modern games. However, to keep the prices lower, Acer had to make some compromises: installing a battery of only average size, and the display is not very bright, with inaccurate color reproduction, along with mediocre speakers. Despite these drawbacks, we have a reliable workhorse before us, capable of replacing a home PC. You’ll be able to not only handle typical office tasks but also comfortably play modern computer games.

EN→NLAs a general-purpose laptop, the Aspire 7 is a nicely balanced package. It isn’t a dedicated gaming laptop but it is far more capable of playing demanding games than most other “not gaming” laptops. The only serious issue I have is the dull and colourless display. Still, if you plan on using the Aspire 7 indoors and primarily just for gaming and non-creative work, then it is something you can probably live with and, to be fair, it’s no worse than many laptop screens in this price range. The Aspire 7 is a very good-value laptop even at the regular price of £749, but when it falls to a more affordable level, as it already has done twice, it’s almost unmissable good.

Acer: In 1976 werd het bedrijf in Taiwan opgericht onder de naam Multitech en in 1987 omgedoopt tot Acer of Acer Group. Het productassortiment omvat bijvoorbeeld laptops, tablets, smartphones, desktops, monitoren, tv's en computerrandapparatuur. Sinds 2007 is de groep gefuseerd met Gateway Inc. en Packard Bell, die ook hun eigen productlijnen voor laptops op de markt brengen.
Acer computers zijn ontworpen voor verschillende doeleinden, waaronder ultrabooks voor mobiel gebruik, gaming laptops voor gamers, betaalbare opties voor alledaagse taken en 2-in-1 converteerbare laptops voor veelzijdigheid. Het productportfolio van Acer omvat ook tablets die draagbare computer- en multimediamogelijkheden bieden.
Deze grafische kaarten zouden alle huidige spellen moeten kunnen draaien, maar de meeste spellen zullen alleen met gemiddelde of lage detail instellingen en lage resoluties goed werken. Oudere of minder veeleisende spellen kunnen nog wel met goede grafische instellingen gespeeld worden.
NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1650 Ti Mobile:
Grafische kaart uit het middensegment voor laptops die gebruik maken van een Turing TU117 chip zonder raytracing en Tensor kernen. Moet iets sneller zijn dan een GTX 1650, maar is ook verkrijgbaar in verschillende varianten met een TGP variërend van 55 - 80 Watt (en twee pakketten).
NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1650 Mobile:
Mid-range discrete grafische kaart voor laptops gebaseerd op de GTX 1650 voor desktops en dus de Turing-architectuur (TU117-chip in 12-nm-FFN) zonder ray-tracing en Tensor-cores.
NVIDIA GeForce RTX 2050 Mobile:
Grafische kaart voor laptops uit het middensegment, gebaseerd op de Turing-architectuur, met raytracing-functies en 2.048 shaders (meer dan een RTX 2060), maar slechts een kleine 64-bits geheugenbus.
Deze middenklasse grafische kaarten kunnen alle huidige spellen vloeiend spelen. Veeleisende spellen kunnen alleen met gemiddelde detail instellingen gespeeld worden.

i7-10750H:
Een krachtige hexa-core processor ontworpen voor de dikkere laptops met ruimte voor betere thermiek. De Comet Lake-H-processor is vervaardigd op het third-gen 14 nm Intel-proces en is voorzien van de UHD Graphics 630 iGPU geklokt op 350 MHz tot 1.150 MHz. De CPU-kernen draaien op 2,6 GHz (basiskloksnelheid) met een boost tot 5 GHz en de waarschijnlijke all-core Boost-frequentie is 4,3 GHz. Hyper-Threading ondersteuning is ingeschakeld, waardoor twee threads gelijktijdig kunnen draaien op elke core.
AMD Lucienne (Zen 2, Ryzen 5000):
R5 5500U:
Mobiele APU met zes kernen die gebruik maakt van Zen 2 kernen geklokt op 2,1 tot 4 GHz en een Vega grafische kaart met 7 kernen geklokt op maximaal 1800 MHz. Vergelijkbaar met de oude Ryzen 5 4500U.
Intel Alder Lake-P:
i5-1240P:
Een middenklasse 28 W Alder Lake familie CPU met 4 prestatie-kernen en 8 efficiënte kernen. Deze SoC is ontworpen voor gebruik in ultralichte laptops. De prestatiekernen van de i5 zijn voorzien van de Hyper-Threading-technologie voor het verdubbelen van threads, voor een totaal van 16 threads. De Core i5-1240P draait op 1,2 GHz tot 4,4 GHz; hij heeft een ingebouwde Iris Xe GPU van 80 EU en ondersteunt vPro-functies van het "Essentials"-niveau.
i5-12450H: Op Alde Lake gebaseerde mobiele CPU met 4 prestatie-kernen en 4 efficiënte kernen. De prestatie-kernen bieden hyper-threading, wat leidt tot 12 threads die verwerkt kunnen worden. De CPU klokt van 1,5 tot 4,4 GHz en ondersteunt vPro.
i7-12650H:
Op Alder Lake gebaseerde mobiele CPU met 6 prestatiekernen en 4 efficiencykernen. De prestatiekernen bieden hyper threading, wat leidt tot 16 verwerkbare threads. De processor draait op frequenties van 1,7 tot 4,7 GHz en ondersteunt vPro.
AMD Cezanne (Zen 3, Ryzen 5000):
R7 5825U:
Mobiele Octa-Core APU met Zen 3-kernen geklokt op 2 GHz tot 4,5 GHz en een Vega iGPU met 8 CU's geklokt op maximaal 2000 MHz.

Gewoonlijk hebben subnotebooks, ultrabooks en redelijk lichte laptops met een 12-16 inch schermdiagonaal dit gewicht.
