Waarschuwing: Blijf weg van Intel's Graphics 2 Xe3

Veel slechter dan dit wordt het niet op het gebied van grafische prestaties: de Graphics 2 Xe3 in de Lenovo IdeaPad 5i 2-in-1 14

Terwijl de grafische vereisten van moderne games blijven stijgen, stagneren de prestaties van goedkopere iGPU's al jaren. Het beste voorbeeld hiervan is Intel's Graphics 2 Xe3, het instapmodel van de gloednieuwe Panther Lake generatie.

De Lenovo IdeaPad 5i 2-in-1 14hebben we onlangs onze eerste blik geworpen op de zwakste iGPU uit de Panther Lake-serie, namelijk de eerder genoemde Graphics 2 Xe3. Het woord "traag" is in dit geval helaas heel toepasselijk, want we waren erg teleurgesteld en bijna geschokt door de prestaties. De specificaties, met slechts 16 shader-eenheden, voorspellen al weinig goeds.

Terwijl de superieure Graphics 4 Xe3, met 32 shaderunits, ten minste het niveau van de Radeon 860M haalt, valt de Graphics 2 Xe3 ergens tussen de Radeon 840M en Radeon 820M in, die ook erg traag zijn naar hedendaagse maatstaven.

Zoals onze gamingtests duidelijk aantoonden, zijn de capaciteiten van de iGPU alleen voldoende voor oudere of weinig veeleisende titels zoals Dota 2. Bij nieuwere games wordt de chip vaak enorm overbelast, zelfs bij een resolutie van slechts 1920 x 1080 en minimale detailinstellingen. Daarom moeten alle gelegenheidsgamers apparaten met de Graphics 2 Xe3 links laten liggen
