Sony heeft met de Xperia 10 III geen grootse sprongen voorwaarts gemaakt. De behuizing is verder verfijnd en de hoofdtelefooningang maakte een terugkeer. De waterdichtheid en het Gorilla Glass 6 zijn zeker troeven, alleen zullen potentiële kopers mogelijk afgeschrikt worden door dat uiterlijk met de grote schermranden. De telefoon heeft ook nog steeds niet de beste prestaties en het is ook jammer dat de vingerafdrukscanner niet erg snel werkt. Sony slaagt er wel vaker in om telefoons uit te brengen die op een aantal nichepunten heel goed scoren, terwijl ze een aantal prioritaire aspecten helemaal lijken te vergeten. Dat is het geval bij de vlaggenschepen, maar we zien het ook terug met de Xperia 10 III. Wie in deze prijsklasse een goede cameratelefoon wil, gecharmeerd is door het 21:9-scherm, of erg veel belang hecht aan een goede accuduur, heeft een motief om voor deze Sony-smartphone te kiezen.

The cameras are also extremely patchy, with charging speeds out of the box painfully slow. That’s not to say the Xperia 10 III doesn’t get anything right – far from it. Performance is fine and extends to mobile gaming, while battery life is among the best you’ll find anywhere. It still looks and feels like a premium handset, and the simple software experience is enjoyable. But Sony’s cautious spec sheet and comparatively high price tag means the Xperia 10 III needed to nail the basics. It simply doesn’t do that, making the phone hard to recommend.

Stereo speakers are ever more common in the midrange too, and the Xperia misses out on this trend too. And for a phone that prides itself on its camera prowess, selfies sure aren't up to scratch. However, the Xperia has its fair share of advantages over the competition. Starting with the physical, the Xperia is one of the most compact devices you can find in the midrange. More importantly, it has full IP65/IP68 dust and water protection - best in class weather sealing.

Alleen oudere games kunnen vloeiend draaien met deze grafische chips (als ze niet veeleisend zijn). Gedeeld geheugen grafische cores in deze categorie hebben het voordeel van minder warmte-ontwikkeling en langere batterijlooptijd. Voor kantoor, internet, beeldcorrectie- en videomonteringswerk zijn deze grafische chips nog steeds bruikbaar zonder enige beperkingen.
