Het klinkt misschien wat hard, maar je bent echt koekoek als je deze OPPO A5 Pro koopt. En begrijp me niet verkeerd, ik heb niks tegen OPPO. Het bedrijf maakt immers zeker goede toestellen, vooral met zijn Find X-lijn. Helaas weet het dit nog altijd niet door te zetten naar zijn goedkopere modellen binnen de A-lijn en de midrange Reno-lijn. De A5 Pro is hier een heel goed voorbeeld van. Een telefoon met een HD Ready-scherm, trage processor, piepkleine camerasensor en bloatware in een plastic behuizing zonder groothoeklens uitbrengen voor 279 euro, dat kan naar mijn mening anno 2025 namelijk echt niet meer. Met andere woorden: de specificaties van de OPPO A5 Pro passen bij een telefoon met een maximale adviesprijs van 150 euro, niet van bijna 300 euro. Nu is de prijs inmiddels gezakt naar ongeveer 220 euro.

De Oppo A5 Pro is een vreemde eend in de bijt, maar op een positieve manier. Voor een sympathieke prijs koop je een smartphone die tegen een stootje én tegen water kan en erg lang meegaat op een accuduur. Op de specificaties ligt minder nadruk, maar ook die zijn – los van de schermresolutie – prima. Een lang updatebeleid maakt de prettige gebruikerservaring compleet.

It's built to survive drops, spills, and even a dip in boiling water. But when you get past the durability, things start to feel a bit... lackluster. The 6.67-inch display with an HD+ resolution just doesn't cut it. Sure, it has a 120Hz refresh rate, but the thick bezels and relatively low resolution are a letdown for the price, especially when you're used to seeing sharper displays at this price point. The camera is another area where the A5 Pro doesn't quite do well. It's not a terrible camera by any means, but it's definitely not in the same league as some of the competition.

De meeste niet-veeleisende huidige games kunnen vloeiend draaien. Wees voorbereid op verminderde grafische weergave door lage detailinstellingen en lage resoluties. Toch verschaffen deze kaarten voldoende prestatie voor kantoor taken en video bekijken (niet voor HD videos).
ARM Mali-G615 MP2: Grafische chip voor smartphones in het middensegment met 2 van de 6 mogelijke kernen. Gebaseerd op de vierde generatie Valhall-architectuur. Biedt schaduw met variabele snelheid.
Alleen oudere games kunnen vloeiend draaien met deze grafische chips (als ze niet veeleisend zijn). Gedeeld geheugen grafische cores in deze categorie hebben het voordeel van minder warmte-ontwikkeling en langere batterijlooptijd. Voor kantoor, internet, beeldcorrectie- en videomonteringswerk zijn deze grafische chips nog steeds bruikbaar zonder enige beperkingen.

Geïntegreerde grafische kaart uit het middensegment met 2 clusters. Gebaseerd op de Valhall architectuur.

Dimensity 7300: De Dimensity 7300 is een mid-range processor met een geïntegreerde 5G-modem. De CPU bevat vier ARM Cortex-A78 kernen tot 2,5 GHz en vier Cortex-A55 power kernen tot 2 GHz. De SoC is vervaardigd met behulp van het moderne 4nm-proces.
Mediatek Dimensity 6000:
Dimensity 6300: De CPU heeft in totaal acht kernen, die verdeeld zijn over twee clusters. De ene heeft twee ARM Cortex-A76 prestatie-kernen met elk tot 2,4 GHz, terwijl de andere zes ARM Cortex-A55 energiebesparende kernen heeft met elk tot 2,0 GHz. LPDDR4x RAM met 2.133 MHz kan worden gebruikt als RAM en UFS 2.2 wordt ondersteund als intern geheugen. De Dimensity 6300 lijkt erg op de oude Dimensity 6080.
