De Nokia 3.1 biedt volgens de fabrikant een pure, veilige en up-to-date Android-ervaring, gecombineerd met het vakmanschap, prestatie en oog voor design. Op het gebied van Android-ervaring hebben ze het helemaal bij het rechte eind. Het toestel draait op Android One en biedt een prettige ervaring met het Android-platform op zijn puurst. Ook qua systeem- en beveiligingsupdates zit je met Android One, dus ook de Nokia 3.1, helemaal goed. Het toestel is degelijk en functioneel als een echte Nokia uit vroegere tijden. Het design is ietwat gedateerd met zijn schermverhouding en behoorlijke bezels en op het gebied van prestaties kan het de powerusers niet bijbenen.

De Nokia 3.1 is een betaalbare smartphone die punten scoort met zijn ontwerp, beeldscherm en lange accuduur. De Android One-software kan ons eveneens bekoren. Om tot de lage verkoopprijs te komen, heeft Nokia wel bezuinigd op functies en de hardware. De telefoon is bijvoorbeeld niet de snelste. Heb je een budget van 150 euro dan is de Nokia 3.1 een prima koop, al geldt dat bijvoorbeeld ook voor de Motorola Moto E5 Plus (179 euro). Het loont ook om nog iets meer te betalen, want voor 200 euro krijg je een completere en snellere smartphone zoals de Xiaomi Mi A2.

Alleen oudere games kunnen vloeiend draaien met deze grafische chips (als ze niet veeleisend zijn). Gedeeld geheugen grafische cores in deze categorie hebben het voordeel van minder warmte-ontwikkeling en langere batterijlooptijd. Voor kantoor, internet, beeldcorrectie- en videomonteringswerk zijn deze grafische chips nog steeds bruikbaar zonder enige beperkingen.
