De Minisforum MS-A2 heeft een soortgelijk ontwerp als de MS-01 en MS-A1 en doet denken aan industriële pc's zoals de ThinkCentre-serie van Lenovo. De metalen behuizing met een plastic voorpaneel voelt stevig en degelijk aan. Met een gewicht van 1,5 kg (plus een voeding van 788 g) is hij zwaarder en groter dan typische mini-pc's, waardoor hij meer bureauruimte inneemt.

De aansluitmogelijkheden zijn uitgebreid, met zeven USB-poorten, waaronder twee USB-C, en een HDMI-poort. Accessoires

Onderhoud

Het Minisforum MS-A2 maakt eenvoudig onderhoud en upgrades mogelijk, omdat de behuizing zonder gereedschap kan worden geopend. Voor het installeren van RAM of SSD's is echter basisgereedschap vereist. De Minisforum MS-A2 wordt geleverd in een compacte kartonnen doos en de accessoires zijn apart verpakt in plastic, waardoor er nog ruimte is voor verbetering op het gebied van duurzaamheid. Minisforum geeft geen extra details over de milieueffecten van de productieprocessen of de gebruikte materialen.

Bij de Minisforum MS-A2 draait de compacte koelventilator onder belasting op hoge snelheden om de krachtige processor in toom te houden, waardoor het apparaat duidelijk hoorbaar is.
