Neem deze Microsoft Surface Book 3 bijvoorbeeld. Onder de motorkap is er hier en daar zeker iets veranderd, maar qua uiterlijk leunt het apparaat nog steeds op zijn voorgangers. Uitstekende werking, prima toetsenbord en heerlijke trackpad. In 2015 was de Surface Book dan ook helemaal je-van-het. Duidelijk een voorbeeld voor andere Windows-laptops.

Met de Microsoft Surface Book 3 zet Microsoft een ongekend uitgebreide en krachtige laptop neer. Het dunne en lichte apparaat is goed gebouwd en het is erg fijn dat het scherm zo nu en dan los te koppelen is om als tablet te gebruiken. Vanwege de optie om een krachtige Quadro-GPU in de Surface Book 3 te stoppen is hij zelfs tegen zware grafische taken opgewassen.

As much as possible, users prefer laptops with a justifiable screen real estate. Usually, a portable computing device that has a 12.5" to 14" screen is the sweet spot. However, those screen sizes aren't usually ideal for tablet PCs. Aside from the weight, the large handheld devices can be a pain to hold since most tablets are design to be held on one hand with the other hand taking care of touching the screen.

But those features brought with them a number of small (but glaring) flaws: a large and wobbly hinge, a limited port selection, and very visible bezels. If Microsoft fixed those, I thought the new Surface Book 3 could be a nearly perfect device.

13.50": Dit schermformaat wordt vooral gebruikt voor subnotebooks, ultrabooks en convertibles. Voor alle drie types is dit formaat redelijk groot. De grootste verscheidenheid aan subnotebooks wordt vertegenwoordigd in deze klasse.

Grote schermformaten laten hogere resoluties toe. Details zoals letters zijn groter. Anderzijds is het energieverbruik lager bij kleine schermdiagonalen en de toestellen zijn kleiner, lichter en goedkoper.
