EN→NLThe ThinkPad E14 Gen 5’s sturdy build quality, excellent inputs, and long battery life uphold the ThinkPad tradition to make for an ideal productivity platform. It even surprises with premium features, like Thunderbolt 4, a 1080p webcam, and support for two internal storage drives. You'll find a few dents in its armor, namely weak speakers and a screen that’s somewhat washed out, but those are ultimately forgivable given its pricing and intended usage. The Asus ZenBook 14 OLED provides a superior screen for entertainment, but for everything else, this ThinkPad is a commendable value and earns our Editors' Choice award for budget business laptops.

EN→NLThe ThinkPad E14 Gen is actually a super affordable hyper-mobile business laptop that will fit comfortably into whatever backpack or briefcase you carry while providing smooth performance that will handle most business workflows. With starting prices for its base model below $625, it's a business bargain laptop that more than does the job. Its sleek, elegant business styling gives it a nice edge in a sometimes dreary business laptop market. You add Lenovo’s gorgeous keyboard design and sturdiness, which is an excellent buy for small and large businesses. Although it tested below the Acer Swift 14 in several benchmarks, I found the performance more than enough. Also, the Swift 14 will cost you about $300 more. So it all depends on your needs and budget, but the ThinkPad E14 Gen 5 would be an excellent choice for a startup on a budget.

EN→NLThe Lenovo ThinkPad E14 Gen 5 (Intel) is a solid business device. It comes with many CPU options so you can choose the right processor for your needs. In our case, the device that we have bought has a Core i7-1355U under the bonnet. The machine feels snappy for daily or office tasks as well as for video calls. The build quality is very good but the lid can’t be opened with a single hand. The upgrade options are good. Sure, part of the memory is soldered but there is a SODIMM for future memory expansions. The maximum possible capacity of 48GB DDR4-3200MHz RAM should be enough for most users. One of the two M.2 slots is for Gen 3 SSDs but it’s not a big deal considering the price of the laptop. You can install a Gen 4 SSD in this slot but the speeds will be limited. We are happy to see that the overall performance isn’t hindered by the DDR4 memory. The Lenovo ThinkPad E14 Gen 5 (Intel) is a well-built sturdy business device that doesn’t cost much but it can offer adequate performance, good comfort under load, a PWM-free IPS display, and a modern I/O.

Intel Iris Xe G7 96EUs:
Geïntegreerde grafische kaart in Intel Tiger Lake G4 SoC's op basis van de nieuwe Gen. 12-architectuur met 96 EU's (Execution Units / Shader Cluster). De kloksnelheid is afhankelijk van het processormodel. De Tiger Lake chips worden geproduceerd in het moderne 10nm+ proces bij Intel.
Deze grafische kaarten zouden alle huidige spellen moeten kunnen draaien, maar de meeste spellen zullen alleen met gemiddelde of lage detail instellingen en lage resoluties goed werken. Oudere of minder veeleisende spellen kunnen nog wel met goede grafische instellingen gespeeld worden.

i7-1355U: Op Alder Lake gebaseerde mobiele CPU met 2 prestatie-kernen en 8 efficiënte kernen. De prestatie-kernen bieden hyper-threading, wat leidt tot 12 threads die verwerkt kunnen worden. De CPU klokt van 1,2 tot 5 GHz. De TDP is gespecificeerd op 15 Watt.

14.00": Dit schermformaat wordt vooral gebruikt voor subnotebooks, ultrabooks en convertibles. Voor alle drie types is dit formaat redelijk groot. De grootste verscheidenheid aan subnotebooks wordt vertegenwoordigd in deze klasse.
Grote schermformaten laten hogere resoluties toe. Details zoals letters zijn groter. Anderzijds is het energieverbruik lager bij kleine schermdiagonalen en de toestellen zijn kleiner, lichter en goedkoper.
