Screen Flickering / PWM (Pulse-Width Modulation)

Om de schermhelderheid te verlagen schakelen sommige laptops het backlight erg snel aan en uit. Dit gebeurt aan een dergelijk hoge frequentie dat het niet zichtbaar is voor het menselijk oog. Als de frequentie te laag is kunnen personen met gevoelige ogen geïrriteerd geraken, hoofdpijn krijgen en zelfs flickering waarnemen.

De 2018 Gigabyte Aero 14 is een indrukwekkend veelzijdig apparaat. De notebook heeft een degelijke, stijlvolle en dunne behuizing, terwijl ook niet is bezuinigd op rekenkracht.

De Aero 14 weet een betere balans te slaan dan vele andere laptops. De combinatie van een Core i7-8750H en GeForce 1050 Ti vragen veel van het relatief luide koelsysteem wanneer zware programma's gedraaid worden. Gelukkig is de ventilator in staat om het apparaat zonder geluid koel te houden bij een lage belasting.

Het apparaat heeft geen grote tekortkomingen. Hoewel de responstijden van het beeldscherm beter kunnen, is de Aero 14 niet alleen ontworpen voor games. De hoge resolutie en X-Rite Pantone kleurnauwkeurigheid bewijzen dat de Aero 14 zich ook in het professionele segment staande kan houden. Ook is Thunderbolt 3 aanwezig en zullen gebruikers tevreden zijn over de luidsprekers.

Het hoogtepunt is de batterijlevensduur, waarmee de Gigabyte Aero een veelzijdige alleskunner wordt.
