The HP ProBook 6360b (Best Deal: $949.99 at neweggbusiness.com) is a respectable contender in the 13.3-inch business laptop contest, with responsive performance and a keyboard that narrowly tops that of the Editors' Choice Toshiba Portege R835-P88. But its extra pound and a half of weight, and lack of HDMI and USB 3.0, make it hard to recommend over the Toshiba R835-P88. It's not always hip to be square.

The HP ProBook overall is an excellent corporate notebook – fabulous all-rounder, with performance approaching ultrabook levels. Amazon sells HP ProBook 6360B for $875, HP vouchers may bring the price down a bit. Just download voucher codes and you are on your way.

You do sacrifice a few features compared to more expensive Sandy Bridge models in the 13-inch category such as a slightly faster processor, lack of USB 3.0 ports, a backlit keyboard and added thickness, but some would argue that the tradeoff is justified as you get an optical drive, 54mm ExpressCard slot, VGA-out and a better trackpad/buttons -- not to mention the ProBook's superior autonomy. As always, it simply boils down to your individual needs. If you want a capable business class notebook and don't care about how chic it is, the $750 ProBook is worth considering. Should you require a bit more processing power or desire a thinner, lighter and more modern looking machine, the rotund ProBook won't make your short list of potential buys.

There is no dedicated graphics card in the HP ProBook 6360b, which means you have to settle for integrated graphics. Because of that, you can count out playing any of today's 3D games, but it is good enough for some video editing and watching HD content online. The included six-cell battery will provide about 5:30-6:30 hours of battery life, which is about average for other laptops of similar caliber.

At times, the laptop industry seems like it's in a design standstill compared with the fast-paced worlds of smartphones and tablets. The solid, no-surprises HP ProBook 6360b is a well-priced 13-inch laptop with up-to-date specs, but it's nothing that a consumer couldn't get in a better-looking design somewhere else.

Intel HD Graphics 3000: Aankomende (1ste kwartaal 2011) geïntegreerde grafische kaart van de Intel Sandy Bridge processoren (Core ix-2xxx). De 3000 / 200 is de snellere, intern GT2 genaamde, versie met 12 Execution Units (EU's).

Alleen oudere games kunnen vloeiend draaien met deze grafische chips (als ze niet veeleisend zijn). Gedeeld geheugen grafische cores in deze categorie hebben het voordeel van minder warmte-ontwikkeling en langere batterijlooptijd. Voor kantoor, internet, beeldcorrectie- en videomonteringswerk zijn deze grafische chips nog steeds bruikbaar zonder enige beperkingen.

2540M: Snelle dual-core processor geklokt van 2,6 GHz tot 3,3 GHz (TurboBoost 2.0) gebaseerd op de Sandy Bridge architectuur met een geïntegreerde grafische kaart en dual-channel DDR3 geheugencontroller.

13.30": Dit schermformaat wordt vooral gebruikt voor subnotebooks, ultrabooks en convertibles. Voor alle drie types is dit formaat redelijk groot. De grootste verscheidenheid aan subnotebooks wordt vertegenwoordigd in deze klasse.

Grote schermformaten laten hogere resoluties toe. Details zoals letters zijn groter. Anderzijds is het energieverbruik lager bij kleine schermdiagonalen en de toestellen zijn kleiner, lichter en goedkoper.

2.17 kg: Gewoonlijk hebben subnotebooks, ultrabooks en redelijk lichte laptops met een 12-16 inch schermdiagonaal dit gewicht.

HP: Het Amerikaanse bedrijf werd opgericht in 1939 en is een belangrijke server- en printerfabrikant en een van de toonaangevende IT-bedrijven ter wereld. Tot 2015 heette het bedrijf Hewlett-Packard Company. Na een splitsing werd de computerdivisie omgedoopt tot HP Inc.

75.6%: Dit cijfer is niet echt overtuigend. Het moet in acht worden genomen dat er bijna geen laptops zijn die een score onder de 60% hebben. Dit notebook is beneden gemiddeld beoordeeld, en is niet aanbevolen te kopen.
