Ik heb deze laptop nu enkele maanden in gebruik en ben positief verrast over de snelheid en accuduur van deze laptop. Het scherm springt er voor deze prijsklasse echt uit met een super kleurafstelling, hoge helderheid en haarscherpe kwaliteit. Naast enkele kleine minpuntjes die niet echt afdoen aan de kwaliteit van de machine echt een topper.

EN→NLThe Asus Vivobook S 16 OLED proves mid-range laptops don’t have to be bland. Sure, it’s essentially a fairly high-performance everyday laptop with a bigger-than-most display and a trendy OLED panel, but there are other stand-outs. Asus uses an unusually deep and satisfying keyboard, which I find more comfortable to use for hours on end than many of the most expensive models around. This keyboard also has a gamer-style backlight that can be tuned to whatever colour you like. Elements of the design, most notably the plastic touchpad, mean it’s not in the same luxury league as a MacBook Air M3 or Samsung Galaxy Book 4 Pro, but to get either of those with 16GB RAM and a 512GB or 1TB SSD? You’re looking at big money.

EN→NLThe best part about the new Vivobook S series though, is the price. These two laptops, if equipped with the Intel Core Ultra 5 125H, starts at RM4,399 for the 14-inch and RM4,699 for the 16-inch model. As what I said at the beginning of this video – they’re surprisingly affordable. No cap, I thought this laptop was going to be at least RM5k because of how premium it is. We have a great metal design, great specs, great screen, great keyboard and trackpad, great selection of ports, and also a great battery life. All this for below RM5k is actually a good price.

EN→NLYou have plenty to choose from if you want a light, sleek 16-inch laptop with a high-quality display. The doyen of this category is Apple's 16.2-inch MacBook Pro, a machine that's hard to fault until you have to pay for it. Cheap it is not. Samsung will tempt you with the Galaxy Book 4 and Acer with the Swift X 16. Both are decent laptops, though the latter only features a 16-inch display in the more expensive Pro and Ultra models, and the former is rather lacklustre in design. That leaves a gap in the market for a cutting-edge 16-inch ultrabook that won't break the bank. And Asus' new Vivobook S16 may be just the ultrabook to plug that gap.

Then there’s the bottom-firing speakers which can limit the volume and audio quality when in laptop mode. That said, the Vivobook 16 Flip is a solid value. For just $1,349, you get a gorgeous 1800p OLED display, all-day battery life, reliable all-around performance, smooth iGPU graphics, and a responsive SSD. You can also access the full Copilot+ platform, Intel AI playground, an oversized touchpad, and a full-size keyboard. It checks all the boxes we set for our best 2-in-1 laptops. It’s also durable and features an understated design that can fit in at the office.

Asus: ASUSTeK Computer Inc. is een grote Taiwanese fabrikant van computerhardware gevestigd in Taipei, opgericht in 1989. Onder de merknaam Asus produceert het bedrijf een breed scala aan producten, waaronder laptops, desktops, moederborden, grafische kaarten, monitoren, smartphones en netwerkapparatuur, complete systemen en pc-onderdelen voor eindgebruikers.
Onder de merknaam ROG (Republic of Gamers) produceert ASUS gaming laptops die bij gamers bekend staan om hun krachtige specificaties, speciale grafische kaarten, schermen met hoge verversingssnelheid en geavanceerde koelsystemen.
Naast gaming wordt een breed scala aan notebooks aangeboden voor verschillende behoeften en budgetten, van ultraslanke en lichtgewicht ultrabooks tot veelzijdige 2-in-1 convertibles en budgetvriendelijke opties. In 2023 had Asus wereldwijd een marktaandeel van 7% op de pc-markt.
De klanttevredenheid over ASUS-notebooks heeft betrekking op de prestaties, de functies en de goede prijs-prestatieverhouding van ASUS-notebooks. Zoals bij elk merk zijn er echter af en toe meldingen van problemen zoals oververhitting, drivercompatibiliteit of problemen met de bouwkwaliteit.
Deze grafische kaarten zouden alle huidige spellen moeten kunnen draaien, maar de meeste spellen zullen alleen met gemiddelde of lage detail instellingen en lage resoluties goed werken. Oudere of minder veeleisende spellen kunnen nog wel met goede grafische instellingen gespeeld worden.
Intel Arc 8-Core: Geïntegreerde grafische kaart gebaseerd op de Xe LPG-architectuur (vergelijkbaar met de speciale Arc GPU's, maar met de nadruk op efficiëntie). Biedt alle 8 Xe cores (128 Xe vector engines) en 8 ray tracing units.
Intel Arc 140V: Een behoorlijk snelle geïntegreerde grafische adapter die naar verluidt bepaalde Intel Lunar Lake processors gebruiken. De 140V heeft 8 kernen met Xe²-architectuur die draaien op maximaal 2.050 MHz en 8 ray tracing-eenheden; hij is geschikt voor DirectX 12 Ultimate en ondersteunt ook alle moderne videocodecs. Als recente uitgelekte benchmarkscores een indicatie zijn, zullen de gamingprestaties iets beter zijn dan die van de GeForce MX570.

Intel Meteor Lake-H:
Ultra 7 155H: Een high-end Meteor Lake-chip die in december 2023 zijn debuut maakte. Deze Core Ultra-processor van de 1e generatie vervangt de Core-chips van de 13e generatie; hij beschikt over 16 kernen (6 + 8 + 2) en 22 threads. De Performance-kernen, waarvan er 6 zijn, draaien op maximaal 4,8 GHz, terwijl de Efficient-kernen, waarvan er 10 zijn (8 hoofdkernen plus 2 extra in het Low Power Island) op maximaal 3,8 GHz draaien. De geïntegreerde AI Boost NPU biedt twee Gen 3 engines voor hardware AI werklastversnelling. Het "minimaal verzekerde" stroomverbruik van deze laptopprocessor is 28 W, terwijl het Turbo-verbruik binnen de 115 W zou moeten blijven.
Intel Lunar Lake:
Core Ultra 7 258V: Een processor uit de Lunar Lake familie voor het hogere middensegment. Dit is een SoC voor gebruik in slankere laptops en tablets met 4 nieuwe E-cores en 4 nieuwe P-cores op maximaal 4,8 GHz, samen met de veelbelovende nieuwe Arc 140V iGPU en 32 GB on-package LPDDR5x-8533 RAM. Een nieuwe 47 TOPS neurale engine, TB 4 en PCIe 5 SSD ondersteuning zijn ook inbegrepen.
