Helaas geen thunderbolt 3, maar dat is niet echt realistisch in deze prijsrange. Toetsenbord typt lekker en het trackpad is ook al fijn. Het toetsenbord heeft ook verlichting en dat is makkelijk in te stellen via een functietoets. Het scherm is helaas wel minder, en heeft geen goede kleuren. Heel donker grijs wordt lichter en blauw wordt wat grijzer. de laptop is vrijwel onhoorbaar, ook met zware load (stresstest) en haalde met verschillende stresstesten een hoge score met een temperatuur van maximaal 84 graden celcius op de GPU, CPU haalde maximaal 75 graden celcius.

Review – ASUS Vivobook 15 OLED M513U: It’s actually good!

And for my absolutely most favorite part of this laptop – the price. For RM3,499, you get this laptop. I actually think it’s quite an okay price considering that you are getting the powerful AMD Ryzen 7 5700U chip with a beautiful OLED screen. However, the shortcoming – at least for me – is the keyboard. I can live with everything else about this laptop – especially the price. But, maybe you don’t want that much performance on your laptop. Maybe you just want to do some simpler work. Then there’s also another AMD Ryzen 5 5500U version for a lower price of RM3,199 with the same 8GB RAM and 512GB SSD. That is just unbeatable. Just in case you found out about the Intel variant of the Vivobook 15 OLED with the codename K513EA with the enticing price of RM2,799 – I suggest you to proceed with caution. While the Core i3 should be sufficient for most basic tasks, that K513EA version comes with only 4GB RAM. I’m not sure about upgradability but you’ll need to add some ka-ching to make it at least 8GB to be usable. That drives the cost up to about RM3,000 easily.

Gaming test – ASUS Vivobook 15 OLED M513U with the AMD Ryzen 7 5700U

What we’re going to do today is a gaming test on the ASUS Vivobook 15 M513U. This laptop comes with pretty epic hardware for a low-powered laptop. Equipped with a 15.6-inch 1080p OLED screen, AMD Ryzen 7 5700U, 8GB RAM, and 512GB SSD, this laptop – for the price of RM3,499, this is a pretty decent deal overall. So, let’s dissect this laptop and take a look at what performance it can offer. The current amount of VRAM is 4GB, which is just 50% of the system memory. I’m not sure what will happen to the amount of VRAM if we swap out that 4GB RAM stick for 16GB. Will it become 10GB VRAM? How does it split between the soldered on-board RAM and the 16GB stick? Hmmmm… Anyway, that’s a question for another day. As for now, I’m really loving this laptop’s level of performance. I’m amazed by what the Ryzen 7 5700U has to offer for the price of RM3,499. ASUS Vivobook 15 OLED (M1505) review – great OLED display plus long battery life thanks to the efficient AMD CPU

The ASUS Vivobook 15 OLED (M1505) can turn some heads thanks to its OLED panel. Our laptop has the default 1080p display option (Samsung ATNA56YX03-0 (SDC4161)) that is color-accurate and boasts full sRGB and DCI-P3 coverage. Also, the pixel response times are snappy and the viewing angles are wide. This screen is a great choice for watching movies and you’ll see much more details in dark scenes thanks to the infinite contrast ratio. The typical OLED PWM usage isn’t a problem because there is an “OLED Flicker-Free Dimming” mode that can be found in the MyASUS app. Alright, the display is the main event here but what about the performance? It’s good because the cooling is a bit beefier with its two heat sinks and one extra long heat pipe. The optional Ryzen 7 7730U (which is the top CPU variant for the series) can maintain high clocks even during max processor load.

At a decent R17 000, the ASUS Vivobook 15 OLED M1505’s main selling point is its excellent 15” OLED display, which makes working on this simply great. The lightweight body (1.7 kg) might be plastic but it’s stylish (and a fingerprint magnet tbh), the keyboard is great for typing, and it comes with a battery life that will last you through the worst of stage 6. While the sound might be middling, there’s very little performance wise that distracts from the Vivobook 15 OLED M1505 being a winning notebook. However, Asus does not make things easy, since the model below this, with a Ryzen 5 processor and 8 GB of RAM, goes for R4k less - a very tempting proposition if you are looking to save some bucks.

De ASUS VivoBook 15 OLED heeft het Review.nl Testpanel een behoorlijke glimlach op het gezicht gegeven. Dat begint al met het OLED-display: de kleuren spatten van het scherm, en alle testers waren zeer tevreden over de manier waarop films, series en video’s op het scherm getoverd werden. Ook de bouwkwaliteit werd erg gewaardeerd: de laptop is met 15,6 inch lekker groot, maar is alsnog licht genoeg om mee te nemen, ondanks genoeg ruimte voor een full-size toetsenbord. De processor is razendsnel, en er is voldoende werkgeheugen aanwezig om zware taken uit te voeren - zelfs gamen is mogelijk. De accu gaat lang mee, en ook het opladen gaat heerlijk snel, zodat je nooit met een lege batterij hoeft te zitten. Ook extra functies als het aantal aansluitingen voor externe apparaten en het 180 graden klappende scherm zijn erg fijn. Al met al heeft de ASUS VivoBook 15 OLED het cijfer 7,8 zeer verdiend, en was een van de testers zo tevreden met het apparaat, dat hij zijn eigen laptop zo zou inruilen voor de VivoBook.

Asus: ASUSTeK Computer Inc. is een grote Taiwanese fabrikant van computerhardware gevestigd in Taipei, opgericht in 1989. Onder de merknaam Asus produceert het bedrijf een breed scala aan producten, waaronder laptops, desktops, moederborden, grafische kaarten, monitoren, smartphones en netwerkapparatuur, complete systemen en pc-onderdelen voor eindgebruikers.

Onder de merknaam ROG (Republic of Gamers) produceert ASUS gaming laptops die bij gamers bekend staan om hun krachtige specificaties, speciale grafische kaarten, schermen met hoge verversingssnelheid en geavanceerde koelsystemen.

Naast gaming wordt een breed scala aan notebooks aangeboden voor verschillende behoeften en budgetten, van ultraslanke en lichtgewicht ultrabooks tot veelzijdige 2-in-1 convertibles en budgetvriendelijke opties. In 2023 had Asus wereldwijd een marktaandeel van 7% op de pc-markt.

De klanttevredenheid over ASUS-notebooks heeft betrekking op de prestaties, de functies en de goede prijs-prestatieverhouding van ASUS-notebooks. Zoals bij elk merk zijn er echter af en toe meldingen van problemen zoals oververhitting, drivercompatibiliteit of problemen met de bouwkwaliteit.

Deze grafische kaarten zouden alle huidige spellen moeten kunnen draaien, maar de meeste spellen zullen alleen met gemiddelde of lage detail instellingen en lage resoluties goed werken. Oudere of minder veeleisende spellen kunnen nog wel met goede grafische instellingen gespeeld worden.

AMD Renoir (Ryzen 4000 APU):

R7 4700U: Mobiele Octa-Core APU met Zen 2 kernen geklokt op 2 tot 4 GHz en een Vega grafische kaart met 7 CU's geklokt op maximaal 1600 MHz. Vergeleken met de snellere 4800U biedt de 4700U een iets lagere boost kloksnelheid en ondersteunt geen SMT / Hyperthreading.

Dit gewicht is typisch voor erg grote tablets, subnotebooks, ultrabooks en convertibles met een 11-13 inch schermdiagonaal.

1.8 kg:

Gewoonlijk hebben subnotebooks, ultrabooks en redelijk lichte laptops met een 12-16 inch schermdiagonaal dit gewicht.

80%: Dit cijfer is niet echt overtuigend. Het moet in acht worden genomen dat er bijna geen laptops zijn die een score onder de 60% hebben. Dit notebook is beneden gemiddeld beoordeeld, en is niet aanbevolen te kopen.
