Een nadeel is wel dat dat ecosysteem en de software vrij gesloten zijn. Als Apple iets niet toelaat heb je pech. De camera van de iPad had beter gekund, maar je kunt je afvragen of dat uitmaakt voor een tablet.

Erg flitsend is de nieuwe iPad niet, maar dat is ook niet nodig voor wie een tablet zoekt voor op de bank om af en toe even wat op te zoeken. Voor dit soort licht gebruik is de nieuwe iPad van €410 net zo goed geschikt als de iPad Pro 9,7 van €650. Daarmee is de nieuwe iPad wat ons betreft een prima upgrade voor wie een oudere iPad bezit. De tablet zelf is op alle fronten een flinke verbetering maar ook de langere software ondersteuning van Apple maakt de keuze voor een upgrade aantrekkelijk.

De meeste niet-veeleisende huidige games kunnen vloeiend draaien. Wees voorbereid op verminderde grafische weergave door lage detailinstellingen en lage resoluties. Toch verschaffen deze kaarten voldoende prestatie voor kantoor taken en video bekijken (niet voor HD videos).
