Dell vernieuwt zijn Alienware line-up dit jaar vanaf de grond met nieuwe Arrow Lake CPU's, nieuwe Blackwell GPU's en een nieuwe AW30 designtaal. De Area-51 ziet er beter uit en voelt beter aan dan wat ervoor kwam, maar hij vertoont nog steeds veel van dezelfde Alienware voor- en nadelen.

EN→NLThere’s no denying that the Alienware 16 Area-51 is a fantastic gaming laptop that delivers uncompromising RTX 50-series performance. On top of that, it’s also a beautiful-looking machine with elegant curves and tasty RGB lighting. Yes, it’s heavy and expensive, but it’s also freakin’ awesome! If you want a gaming laptop offering comparable performance but with an OLED panel, the Legion Go 7i Pro or HP Omen Max 16 are great, if expensive, alternatives. But if you like what I have to say about Alienware’s gaming notebook and can stomach its price, then you won’t go wrong with this purchase. The Alienware 16 Area-51 comes with my highest recommendation.

EN→NLThe Alienware 16 Area-51 is a sports car of a gaming laptop for gamers who want it all, with everything tweaked to maximum, and plenty of other things to fiddle with under the hood. For most people it's overkill that you won't need. But this otherworldly machine isn't about need, it's about want. And if you want the best-of-the-best in terms of power then it's an epic machine... if you can afford one, anyway.

EN→NLThe Alienware 16 Area-51 is a near-perfect gaming laptop, boasting incredible performance, a bright 16-inch display, a great keyboard, strong speakers, and a beautiful design. But its display can’t beat OLED, and we’ve seen much better battery life numbers elsewhere. A gaming laptop that supports both an OLED panel and significantly better battery life is the Razer Blade 16, although you’ll need to pay about $1,000 more to get it. I’ll pray to Cthulhu for an OLED variant of the Alienware 16 Area-51 in the future, although right now, this gaming laptop is easily one of the best we’ve seen this year, and its price point makes it all the more compelling.

Alienware: Alienware werd in 1996 opgericht in de VS. Het Europese hoofdkantoor is gevestigd in Ierland. Alienware maakt sinds 2006 deel uit van de Dell Group. Het productassortiment richt zich voornamelijk op gaming laptops en desktops, die ontwikkeld en geproduceerd worden door Dell. Het handelsmerk is een licht futuristisch ontwerp met een Alien als logo. Daarnaast worden er werkstations voor particulieren en bedrijven verkocht.
Zoals bij elk merk zijn er ook bij Alienware enkele punten van kritiek. Sommige klanten hebben geklaagd over de hoge prijzen van de producten, terwijl anderen kritiek hadden op de kwaliteit van de klantenservice. Er zijn ook enkele meldingen geweest van problemen met de betrouwbaarheid en duurzaamheid van sommige Alienware-producten. Veel klanten hebben echter ook positieve ervaringen met het merk en waarderen de krachtige spelcomputers.
Deze grafische kaarten zouden de meeste moderne spellen op een hoge resolutie en hoge details moeten kunnen draaien (enkele uitzonderingen zijn mogelijk).

Intel Arrow Lake:
Ultra 9 275HX: Mobiele high-end CPU voor gaming notebooks gebaseerd op de Arrow Lake architectuur. Biedt 24 cores, bestaande uit 8 snelle cores met een kloksnelheid tot 5,4 GHz en 16 kleinere efficiënte cores met een kloksnelheid tot 4,6 GHz. De CPU heeft toegang tot 40 MB L2 cache en 36 MB L3 cache en heeft een TDP van 55 watt. De SoC bevat een kleine speciale NPU genaamd AI Boost met 13 TOPS (Int8) en ondersteunt optioneel vPro Essentials.

Normaal hebben laptops met een 17 inch schermdiagonaal dit gewicht. Dit is redelijk zwaar voor een 15 inch laptops maar aanvaardbaar voor toestellen bedoeld voor stationair gebruik.

86.43%: Dit is een score die boven gemiddeld is. Wel moet je er bij bedenken dat ongeveer 10-15% van alle notebooks een betere score krijgt.
