I already have some experience with ARM-powered laptops from Qualcomm, as I used the ASUS Vivobook S15 for a while. However, that laptop was equipped with the most powerful processor in the Snapdragon X Elite series. In contrast, the device reviewed here features the “simpler” Snapdragon X Plus X1P-42-100. Despite this, I certainly didn’t experience any disappointments. Yes, the laptop may not be as powerful, but it handled the tasks I threw at it excellently. As for the drawbacks, I would highlight the cooling system and thermal performance. In this area, Acer needs to make improvements because, although the issues aren’t critical, they do exist. In conclusion, you’ll get a laptop with a modern design, built with high-quality materials.

Acer is commanding a price of RM3,999 for one of the new Snapdragon-powered Swift Go 14 AI laptop, and for the price, you’ll be getting a laptop that excels in CPU performance (provided that it supports the software), battery life, and some neat features that makes the laptop a more polished package. You’ll have to understand its downsides to make the most out of this laptop though – but if you’re someone who just needs a laptop for productivity, this is a fairly decent choice overall.

Qualcomm Adreno X1-45 1.7 TFLOPS: Een geïntegreerde grafische adapter waar de Snapdragon X Plus 8-core X1P-42-100 SoC over beschikt. Vergeleken met de snellere 3,8 TFLOPS en 4,6 TFLOPS X1-85 iGPU's draait deze niet alleen op lagere kloksnelheden, maar heeft deze ook minder verenigde shaders tot zijn beschikking, met 768 als meest waarschijnlijke aantal. De onderliggende architectuur verschilt naar verluidt niet veel van die van de Adreno 730. Wat betreft de gamingprestaties, deze zijn maar net voldoende voor games van voor 2020 bij resoluties zoals HD 720p op lage grafische instellingen.

Deze grafische kaarten zouden alle huidige spellen moeten kunnen draaien, maar de meeste spellen zullen alleen met gemiddelde of lage detail instellingen en lage resoluties goed werken. Oudere of minder veeleisende spellen kunnen nog wel met goede grafische instellingen gespeeld worden.

SD X Plus X1P-42-100: Een relatief betaalbare ARM-architectuur system-on-a-chip voor gebruik in Windows-laptops die op 20 mei 2024 zijn debuut zal maken. De X1P-42-100 heeft naar verluidt 8 Oryon CPU-kernen (8 P-cores, 0 E-cores) die draaien op een nog onbekende kloksnelheid van minstens 3 GHz. Een 3,8 TFLOPS Adreno GPU, een 45 TOPS Hexagon NPU, een indrukwekkend snelle LPDDR5x-8448 geheugencontroller, USB 4.0 ondersteuning, TB 4 ondersteuning en PCIe 4 ondersteuning zijn waarschijnlijk allemaal aan boord. Deze X Plus-chip maakt geen gebruik van dezelfde chip waarop de X1P-64-100, X1E-78-100, X1E-80-100 en X1E-84-100 zijn gebaseerd.
