Having spent some time testing and using the Acer Ferrari One 200, I would almost consider it more of a notebook replacement than just a netbook. The combination of the AMD Athlon 64 X2 L310 CPU, 3 GB of RAM (Note: Models being sold at retailers feature 4GB of RAM), and Radeon HD 3200 proved to be a potent combination as tests like file compression and PCMark Vantage show its ability to whip through your every day workload.

The Ferrari One features standout styling, and it backs up its good looks with excellent performance for a notebook in its size class.

ATI Radeon HD 3200: Onboard (gedeeld geheugen) grafische chip (op RS780M chipset) gebaseerd op de HD 2400 chip. Beschikt ook over de UVD video engine om HD video’s te decoderen. Voor de rest ondersteunt de kaast Hybrid CrossfireX (voor versnelling) en PowerXpress (om energie te besparen) in combinatie met een dedicated grafische kaart (van de HD 3000 serie).

Alleen oudere games kunnen vloeiend draaien met deze grafische chips (als ze niet veeleisend zijn). Gedeeld geheugen grafische cores in deze categorie hebben het voordeel van minder warmte-ontwikkeling en langere batterijlooptijd. Voor kantoor, internet, beeldcorrectie- en videomonteringswerk zijn deze grafische chips nog steeds bruikbaar zonder enige beperkingen.

11.60": Deze schermdiagonaal is redelijk groot voor tablets maar klein voor subnotebooks. Sommige convertibles hebben ook dit formaat.

Grote schermformaten laten hogere resoluties toe. Details zoals letters zijn groter. Anderzijds is het energieverbruik lager bij kleine schermdiagonalen en de toestellen zijn kleiner, lichter en goedkoper.

Acer: In 1976 werd het bedrijf in Taiwan opgericht onder de naam Multitech en in 1987 omgedoopt tot Acer of Acer Group.
