EN→NL Archive.org versionAcer launched its Concept D line of creator-focused systems in April, which included the unique Concept D 9, based on the Predator Triton 900 gaming system, as well as more traditional clamshell Concept D 7 and 5, similarly based on a couple of the company's gaming laptops. At IFA 2019, Acer expanded the line to include a $1,000 entry-level model, the Concept D 3, as well as "Pro" variants of each which incorporate Nvidia's Quadro RTX workstation GPUs instead of the consumer GeForce versions, and a 17-inch version of the D5 Pro. Acer also decided to offer dark models rather than just the rather unattractive flat white.

You know, if you are a digital designer, artist or some sort of a creator, you would need a set of tools on your desk. First, there is the computer, that has to be powerful enough, so your work isn’t slowed down or it doesn’t stutter under heavy load. Second and also of huge importance – you need a color-accurate display – it is inappropriate to use a dim and off charts panel for color-sensitive work. Then, there are the input devices. Sure, a lot of people can do stuff with their mice and keyboards, however, if you want to be really precise, you would have a tablet or even a touchscreen display laying in front of you.

Acer's 17.3-inch werkstation schittert met veel prestaties, een 4K touchscherm inclusief Wacom stylus en een Thunderbolt 3 poort. De overige configuratie is ook uitstekend: 32 GB RAM, 16 GB VRAM en een 1 TB NVMe SSD.
Commentaar
Acer: In 1976 werd het bedrijf in Taiwan opgericht onder de naam Multitech en in 1987 omgedoopt tot Acer of Acer Group. Het productassortiment omvat bijvoorbeeld laptops, tablets, smartphones, desktops, monitoren, tv's en computerrandapparatuur. Sinds 2007 is de groep gefuseerd met Gateway Inc. en Packard Bell, die ook hun eigen productlijnen voor laptops op de markt brengen.
Acer computers zijn ontworpen voor verschillende doeleinden, waaronder ultrabooks voor mobiel gebruik, gaming laptops voor gamers, betaalbare opties voor alledaagse taken en 2-in-1 converteerbare laptops voor veelzijdigheid. Het productportfolio van Acer omvat ook tablets die draagbare computer- en multimediamogelijkheden bieden.
Deze middenklasse grafische kaarten kunnen alle huidige spellen vloeiend spelen. Veeleisende spellen kunnen alleen met gemiddelde detail instellingen gespeeld worden.
NVIDIA GeForce RTX 2080 Mobile:
High-end grafische kaart voor laptops gebaseerd op de TU104-chip met 2944 shaders en 8 GB GDDR6-VRAM. In vergelijking met de desktop-variant is de GPU lager geklokt.
NVIDIA Quadro RTX 5000 (Laptop):
High-end professionele grafische kaart voor laptops gebaseerd op de TU104-chip met 3072 shaders en 16 GB GDDR6-VRAM. In vergelijking met desktop-variant is de GPU lager geklokt. Er bestaan verschillende versies met 110 Watt (1035 - 1545 MHz) en 150 Watt (1350 - 1770 MHz) naast de nog lager geklokte Max-Q-variant.

Coffee Lake-gebaseerde processor voor grote en zware laptops. Integreert acht processor-cores geklokt aan 2.4 - 5 GHz (4.2 GHz met 8 cores) met ondersteuning voor HyperThreading. Gefabriceerd in een verbeterd 14nm-proces (14nm++). Beschikt over een ontgrendelde multiplier die toelaat om de CPU te overklokken.
