The realme 9 Pro is not a bad smartphone in itself, but it lacks a few things to compete more confidently in this segment. For example, 4K video recording and stereo sound. Nevertheless, it’s hard to single out the strengths of the 9 Pro that the others don’t have. So we’re looking at a typical mid-range smartphone with its simplifications rather than a smartphone with some really striking unique features. It has a good-quality display with a high refresh rate, the main camera takes good photos, it has enough performance for games, and it has good battery life and fast charging. However, you can describe other smartphones for the same money in a similar way, I repeat. The only advantage is the support for 5G networks, but you know that they are not yet very widespread. However, the €320 pricing in Europe is just way too much. The current price tag puts the Realme 9 Pro into an awkward position and it's really hard to recommend over the majority of the mid-€300 handsets. It's hard to beat brighter OLED panels and upper mid-range chipsets with an LCD and typical mid-range SoC. It even faces competition from one of its own siblings. It would have been an easier recommendation if the device's screen was OLED even if that would have cost it a few hertzes. After all, the advertised granular control over the HRR doesn't seem to work, and the Auto refresh rate mode likes sitting at 90Hz most of the time anyway. But perhaps the hardware shortage is beginning to take its tow and Realme's uptick in prices for Europe this year is temporary. As time goes by, the 9 Pro may become a more lucrative option but for the time being, we see it performing well only in India.

Qualcomm Adreno 619:

Alleen oudere games kunnen vloeiend draaien met deze grafische chips (als ze niet veeleisend zijn). Gedeeld geheugen grafische cores in deze categorie hebben het voordeel van minder warmte-ontwikkeling en langere batterijlooptijd. Voor kantoor, internet, beeldcorrectie- en videomonteringswerk zijn deze grafische chips nog steeds bruikbaar zonder enige beperkingen.

SD 695 5G:

Snelle mid-range ARM SoC met 8 CPU Kryo 660-kernen (twee snelle 2,2 GHz ARM Cortex-A77-gebaseerde kernen in een cluster en zes energiebesparende ARM Cortex-A55-gebaseerde kernen op 1,7 GHz) en een lagere mid-range Adreno 619 GPU. Ondersteunt alleen Wi-Fi 5 en is gemaakt in de 6 nm.
