There's no doubting its performance, but you won't need an RTX 3080 Ti unless you want to run the toughest games at top settings. And while the i9-12900HX will brush aside any mobile workload, you can easily get away with a lesser Core i7 or Core i9 CPU for photo and video editing and lots of other work tasks. If you're happy to opt for an RTX 3070 Ti or a less extreme processor, you can save loads of cash on different GE77 specifications (a well balanced model goes down to $2,499) or several different Alienware x17 models. If you do need that level of performance, though, there's nothing like the MSI Raider GE77 – it outpaces rivals at no extra cost when their specifications are aligned.

EN→NLThis laptop is a beast. It’s faster than almost all of the other 17.3in notebooks we’ve tested. The screen has great gaming quality, the keyboard is receptive and robust, and MSI’s machine has loads of ports, super-fast connectivity and impressive build quality. It’s a bruiser too, though, with a thicker and heavier chassis than any competitor. It’s loud if you play challenging games. And at £3999, it’s enormously expensive. The Medion doesn’t have the class or speed of the MSI, but it costs £2699. An equivalent Alienware – with its quieter, slimmer design – is always cheaper, albeit without an identical display. Only the sleeker Razer is pricier. And while you can save money with MSI’s RTX 3070 Ti versions, they start at £2799 – so they’re still not cheap. This level of pace will always be expensive, though, and the MSI delivers more performance than any rival inside a robust and well-appointed chassis. This is the laptop equivalent of a muscle car – and for some people, that’s perfect.

NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3080 Ti Laptop GPU:
High-End laptop grafische kaart gebaseerd op de Ampere GA103S chip. Op het moment van de lancering begin 2022 is de 3080 Ti de snelste laptop grafische kaart op de markt.
Deze grafische kaarten zouden de meeste moderne spellen op een hoge resolutie en hoge details moeten kunnen draaien (enkele uitzonderingen zijn mogelijk).

i9-12900HX: Op Alder Lake gebaseerde mobiele CPU met 8 prestatie-kernen en 8 efficiënte kernen. De prestatie-kernen bieden hyper-threading, wat leidt tot 24 threads die verwerkt kunnen worden. De CPU klokt van 1,7 tot 5 GHz. De CPU biedt geen ondersteuning voor vPro en ECC geheugen.

Grote schermformaten laten hogere resoluties toe. Details zoals letters zijn groter. Anderzijds is het energieverbruik lager bij kleine schermdiagonalen en de toestellen zijn kleiner, lichter en goedkoper.
