De nieuwe ThinkPad X1 Titanium Yoga maakt gebruik van dure materialen en is Lenovo's nieuwe zakelijke convertible vlaggenschip. Het is ook de dunste ThinkPad tot nu toe, maar dat leidt wel tot enkele compromissen, bijvoorbeeld op het gebied van prestaties en invoerapparaten.

EN→NLLenovo has succeeded in producing the slimmest ThinkPad ever, and the eminently portable X1 has a robust design and a smooth convertible action. Elsewhere, it has a great keyboard, a bright display with a helpful aspect ratio and good security features. There are too many areas where this machine is merely ordinary, though. The low-power processor is fine for everyday computing but nothing more, and the ThinkPad lacks the physical connectivity offered by rivals. Battery life is fine but not outstanding, and the haptic trackpad isn’t particularly good. This machine is expensive, too: several rival machines are significantly cheaper. The Lenovo ThinkPad X1 Titanium Yoga has impressive design, a good display and a satisfying keyboard, but the high price and inconsistencies elsewhere make it hard to recommend unless you need the slimmest, lightest laptop you can get your hands on.

EN→NLThe X1 Titanium Yoga is the thinnest ThinkPad ever. At 11.5 millimeters (0.45 inch) and with a 13.5-inch 2K-resolution 450-nit display with a 3:2 aspect ratio, it doesn't take up much more space in a backpack than a spiral-bound single-subject notebook. It also weighs just 2.5 pounds (1.1 kilograms), which is barely more than the X1 Nano, Lenovo's lightest ThinkPad to date at 2 pounds (907 grams). Despite the thin-and-light frame, though, the X1 feels solid enough to hold up to being banged around on flights or an everyday transit commute. And that tall screen means you're getting more vertical space to work but the laptop is no wider than a 13.3-inch laptop. My point is, this is a great design for frequent business travelers and I didn't even mention all the privacy and security features yet. The X1 Titanium Yoga is a first-gen model, however, and while it's good, there's some room for improvement.

EN→NLOne thing we found really cumbersome is to find the specific target group of people for this notebook. And what is its biggest selling point? Is it the titanium material partially used for the build of this device. In that case, the laptop would be nothing more than a posh alternative. Or is it the 11.5mm profile? By itself, this is not a good enough reason to spend nearly $2000.

EN→NLThe ThinkPad X1 Titanium is a showcase of what Lenovo thinks business computing will look like in the near future. People want thinner, lighter laptops with high-quality screens and enough computing power to get their work done. The X1 Titanium achieves these goals with some controversial but innovative design choices, including a redesigned keyboard and a pared-down port selection. Will more 2-in-1 business laptops look like this next year? Probably, but we'd bet that the larger ThinkPad T series, as well as the ThinkPad X1 Yoga, will continue to be the go-tos in Lenovo's lineup.

Intel Iris Xe G7 96EUs:
Geïntegreerde grafische kaart in Intel Tiger Lake G4 SoC's op basis van de nieuwe Gen. 12-architectuur met 96 EU's (Execution Units / Shader Cluster). De kloksnelheid is afhankelijk van het processormodel. De Tiger Lake chips worden geproduceerd in het moderne 10nm+ proces bij Intel.
Deze grafische kaarten zouden alle huidige spellen moeten kunnen draaien, maar de meeste spellen zullen alleen met gemiddelde of lage detail instellingen en lage resoluties goed werken. Oudere of minder veeleisende spellen kunnen nog wel met goede grafische instellingen gespeeld worden.

Tiger Lake gebaseerde quad-core processor met laag stroomverbruik voor dunne en lichte laptops. De vier kernen klokken tussen 1,2 - 4,4 GHz. De geïntegreerde GPU biedt 96 EU's en klokt tussen 400 - 1100 MHz. Geproduceerd in 10nm+ bij Intel.

13.50": Dit schermformaat wordt vooral gebruikt voor subnotebooks, ultrabooks en convertibles. Voor alle drie types is dit formaat redelijk groot. De grootste verscheidenheid aan subnotebooks wordt vertegenwoordigd in deze klasse.
Grote schermformaten laten hogere resoluties toe. Details zoals letters zijn groter. Anderzijds is het energieverbruik lager bij kleine schermdiagonalen en de toestellen zijn kleiner, lichter en goedkoper.

1.189 kg: Dit gewicht is typisch voor grote tablets, kleine subnotebooks, ultrabooks en convertibles met een 10-11 inch schermdiagonaal.
Lenovo: Lenovo ("Le" uit de Engelse legende, novo (Latijn voor nieuw) werd in 1984 opgericht als Chinees handelsbedrijf in computers. In 2004 was het bedrijf de grootste laptopfabrikant in China en, na de overname van IBM's pc-divisie in 2005, de op drie na grootste ter wereld. Naast desktops en notebooks produceert het bedrijf monitoren, projectors, servers, enz. en is het gespecialiseerd in de ontwikkeling, productie en marketing van consumentenelektronica, pc's, software, bedrijfsoplossingen en aanverwante diensten.
