Given the number of netbooks out there with cookie-cutter specifications, price perhaps ends up playing a more significant role than in more mainstream notebooks. Amazon are currently listing the eCAFÉ EC-1000W for $319.99; problem is, they’re also offering the ASUS Eee PC 1005HA – which matches the Hercules’ specs but offers longer batter life – for $284.99. We prefer the ASUS’ keyboard, too, which is a lot less frustrating than the shrunken example on the EC-1000W.

This netbook’s distinct style and software bundle help it stand out from the crowd. Hercules’ $399 eCAFÉ EC-1000W is an attractive netbook whose design stands out in a sea of competitors. The bundled OpenOffice.org suite, online storage, and other utilities also help differentiate this system, as does the two-year warranty. However, other Windows 7 netbooks, such as the Toshiba mini NB205, last over three hours longer on a charge and cost only a little bit more. This machine is a good first effort, but there are better options available

Intel Graphics Media Accelerator (GMA) 950: Intel Graphics Media Accelerator 950 is een geïntegreerde (onboard) grafische chip op de Mobile Intel 945GM chipset. Dit is een snellere kloksnelheid versie van de GMA 900.

Deze grafische kaarten voor notebooks zijn niet bruikbaar voor games. Als ze al games kunnen draaien, dan doen ze dat met grafische afwijkingen en heel lage framesnelheid. Voor gamers zijn deze chips ongeschikt! Kantoor en internet taken zijn, daarentegen, geen probleem voor deze GPUs.

N270: Energiezuinig, goedkoop en trage netbook single core CPU. Door de in-order uitvoering zijn de prestaties per MHz lager dan van een Core Solo of Celeron M processor.
