Ultimately, the Lifebook S710 is too flawed for us to recommend. Its home and office performance is excellent, but the underpowered graphics, limited features and poor build quality are too pronounced at such a high price. You can find much better laptops for your money.

Fujitsu's LifeBook S710 makes a perfectly acceptable compact laptop system that balances size and performance for business users. Features such as the spill resistant keyboard, wide range of peripheral ports and a spill resistant keyboard are nice additions. The problem is that it assumes that corporate users don't need 64-bit software compatibility, dedicated graphics or even much RAM for their work.

The Fujitsu LifeBook S710 is aimed at business users who need a powerful laptop to use on the move. It packs a muscular i5 processor into its small 14-inch chassis, but it's relatively pricey at £940. The 14-inch Fujitsu LifeBook S710 puts forward a good performance and an impressive line-up of ports, but it's let down by its spongy keyboard and bland design.

Intel Graphics Media Accelerator (GMA) HD Graphics:

Alleen oudere games kunnen vloeiend draaien met deze grafische chips (als ze niet veeleisend zijn). Gedeeld geheugen grafische cores in deze categorie hebben het voordeel van minder warmte-ontwikkeling en langere batterijlooptijd. Voor kantoor, internet, beeldcorrectie- en videomonteringswerk zijn deze grafische chips nog steeds bruikbaar zonder enige beperkingen.

520M: De Core i5-520M heeft slechts 3MB L3 Cache (vergeleken met de i7-640M) en heeft een kloksnelheid tussen de 2,4 en 2,93 GHz (Turbo Mode). Met Hyperthreading kunnen er 4 threads gelijktijdig uitgevoerd worden. Een geïntegreerde videokaart (GMA HD 3150) en een DDR3 geheugen controller zitten bij in processor verwerkt.
