Onze eerste kennismaking met een Asus Zenfone is geen basis voor een geslaagde voortzetting van de relatie. Het nette ontwerp van het toestel en zijn, zoals verwacht mocht worden, goede accuduur worden links en recht in de steek gelaten door zwakke hardware en omslachtige en slecht uitgewerkte software. Natuurlijk kan op Android de software in grote mate aan persoonlijke voorkeuren worden aangepast maar op de Max vergt dat wel wat ervaring en moeite. Bovendien wordt daarmee de teleurstellende hardware nog niet gecorrigeerd.

I can’t for the life of me figure out why Asus has priced the ZenFone 3 Max as they did. The elephant in the room is, of course, the Redmi Note 3, and that device sells for about Rs 5,000 to Rs 7,000 less than the ZenFone 3 Max. It also offers a massive performance bump, a better camera and the same battery life. Why would anyone in their right minds pick a ZenFone 3 Max over the Redmi Note 3, at the current pricing?

It's also important that you check the model number behind the box carefully as its easy to confuse the two versions.

ARM Mali-T720 MP2:

Deze grafische kaarten voor notebooks zijn niet bruikbaar voor games. Als ze al games kunnen draaien, dan doen ze dat met grafische afwijkingen en heel lage framesnelheid. Voor gamers zijn deze chips ongeschikt! Kantoor en internet taken zijn, daarentegen, geen probleem voor deze GPUs.

5.20": Dit scherm is al redelijk groot voor een smartphone, maar wordt veelvuldig toegepast.

Grote schermformaten laten hogere resoluties toe. Details zoals letters zijn groter. Anderzijds is het energieverbruik lager bij kleine schermdiagonalen en de toestellen zijn kleiner, lichter en goedkoper.
