For just under £200 all-in, you've got a serviceable (if not stunning) everyday machine, which makes it excellent value. If you need to refresh your laptop on a budget, you could do an awful lot worse.

It's a solid machine, but the compromises may be too much for some.

EN→NL Archive.org versionAs such, Acer’s Chromebook 14 leaves me with mixed feelings. Its metal-clad chassis is excellent, the keyboard comfortable, and you’re getting superb build quality. It feels like a grown-up computer in the way that other Chromebooks – such as its chief rival, the HP Chromebook 14 – simply don’t.

Intel HD Graphics 400 (Braswell):
Grafische kaart geïntegreerd in processoren uit de Intel Braswell (2016 Celeron) reeks. Gebaseerd op de Broadwell (Intel Gen8) architectuur met ondersteuning voor DirectX 11.2. Afhankelijk van de processor biedt deze 12 shader cores (EU) en verschillende kloksnelheden.
De meeste niet-veeleisende huidige games kunnen vloeiend draaien. Wees voorbereid op verminderde grafische weergave door lage detailinstellingen en lage resoluties. Toch verschaffen deze kaarten voldoende prestatie voor kantoor taken en video bekijken (niet voor HD videos).
