Aside from the few issues with the speakers, average battery life and slow hard drive speeds, I am glad to say the G75VW is a welcome revival to the most popular gaming notebook series on the market. Once again, ASUS' Republic of Gamers shows us its years of experience by delivering a notebook with great style, clever design and excellent build quality. This truly is a new standard in portable gaming hardware technology.

I have no reservations recommending the ASUS G75VW to enthusiast gamers. It excels in nearly every area as have previous-generation ASUS G-series gaming notebooks. I like the design tweaks of this iteration including the much-improved keyboard and touchpad and anti-glare screen coating.

The Asus G75VW is a budget-priced gaming laptop, and in this case you kind of get what you pay for. Don't get me wrong: The G75VW can play most games at an acceptable level, and it's a fairly attractive machine to boot. Plus, it has a great screen with excellent viewing angles. That said, it's lacking in general performance, and it's nothing like some of the higher-end gaming laptops we've seen, such as the Origin EON17-S. On the other hand, though the EON17-S has twice the WorldBench 7 score of the G75VW, it also costs more than twice as much. If you're looking for a somewhat budget-friendly gaming laptop, the G75VW is quite capable. But you will need to use headphones.

When it comes to gaming laptops, most people think of Alienware and Origin as the prime providers of high-end, high-performance, high-cost PC hardware. If you want to buy a “budget” gaming laptop, the Asus G75VW-AS71 offers plenty of horsepower and features in its heavy 17-inch body. Just don’t expect anything svelte -- or good battery life.

Deze middenklasse grafische kaarten kunnen alle huidige spellen vloeiend spelen. Veeleisende spellen kunnen alleen met gemiddelde detail instellingen gespeeld worden.

3610QM: Een Ivy Bridge quad-core processor met een kloksnelheid van 2.3 GHz met Turbo Boost ondersteuning tot 3.3 GHz. Heeft een geïntegreerde 4000 GPU die op 650-1100 MHz draait op een dual-channel DDR3 geheugencontroller.

17.3": Tegenwoordig is het 17 inch scherm een maat die frequenter voorkomt op desktop-replacements. De DTR (Desktop-Replacement)-Laptops kunnen minder makkelijk vervoerd worden, verbruiken meer stroom, maar aan de andere kant kan tekst goed gelezen worden en zijn hoge resoluties geen probleem. DTR zijn over het algemeen voor stationair gebruik op het bureau, waar het gewicht en het stroomverbruik niet van belang zijn.
