EN→NLIf we take design and “make-up” aside, we get notebook that has great performances. Toshiba Qosmio F50 can satisfy appetites of most gamers. If display was a little bit better it could easily receive one of our awards. If few hundred euros that will remain in your pocket are enough compensation for average display and you plan to play games from time to time, then Toshiba Qosmio F50 is your notebook.

Toshiba: Toshiba Corporation is een multinational conglomeraat productiebedrijf, hun hoofdkantoor is gevestigd in Japan. De hoofdtakken van het bedrijf zijn infrastructuur, consumenten producten, electronica toestellen en onderdelen. Toshiba’s halfgeleiders horen thuis in de wereldwijde top 20 halfgeleider producenten. Toshiba is een van de grootste internationale laptop fabrikant. Verscheidene testrapporten zijn beschikbaar.
Deze middenklasse grafische kaarten kunnen alle huidige spellen vloeiend spelen. Veeleisende spellen kunnen alleen met gemiddelde detail instellingen gespeeld worden.
NVIDIA GeForce 9600M GT: Opvolger van de 8600M GT en door het kleinere formaat van 65nm heeft de chip een hogere kloksnelheid (en is daardoor sneller) maar wel hetzelfde energieverbruik. Voor de rest beschikt hij over een verbeterde video processor (VP3) en HybridPower om de accu te sparen (in combinatie met de 9100M G).

Intel Core 2 Duo: Dit is de Core Duo, de opvolger van de Core Solo met een langere pipeline en 5-20% meer snelheid zonder een hoger stroomverbruik. Als een aanvulling op het Core Duo ontwerp zit er een vierde decoder op, een versterkte SSE-unit en een extra reken-, logische unit (ALU).
De Core 2 Duo voor laptops is identiek aan de desktop Core 2 Duo processors maar de notebook-processors werken met een lagere spanning en een lagere Frontside bus klok. De prestatie van gelijk-geklokte notebooks is 20-25% lager dan Desktop PCs vanwege de lagere Frontside bus klok en de langzamere harde schijf.
P8400: Processor uit de middenklasse met een TDP van 25 Watt. Voor high end gamers zijn de prestaties niet hoog genoeg (voor eersteklasse videokaarten).
15.4: 15 inch scherm varianten zijn de norm en worden voor meer dan de helft van alle notebooks gebruikt. De reden waarom zoveel mensen schermen kiezen van een gemiddeld formaat, is dat deze maat niet vermoeiend voor de ogen is, niet al te veel stroom verbruikt en dat de laptops redelijk compact blijven.
