Intel T9900

De Intel Core 2 Duo T9900 is theoretisch gezien de opvolger van de X9100 (die ook geklokt is op 3,06 GHz) maar gebruikt minder energie door de moderne stepping en Enhanced Halt State (C1E). Het enige voordeel van de X9100 is de vrije multiplier, die het eenvoudig overklokken van de CPU mogelijk maakt.

De T9900 is een snelle dual core CPU voor laptops met een L2 cache van 6MB en een TDP van 35 Watt. Door de hoge kloksnelheid zullen games (uit 2009) alleszins niet door de CPU beperkt worden. Voor single-threaded applicaties is het een van de snelste CPU's voor laptops (enkel verslagen door de nieuwe Core i7 CPU's met Tubro mode).

De T9900 gebruikt een Penryn (Montevina Update) core met 2 integer units, 1 floating point unit, 1 load unit en 1 store unit in een 14-stadia pipeline. Door de Wide Dynamic Execution Technology kan de Core tot vier instructies tegelijkertijd uitvoeren.

De geïntegreerde Enhanced Speedstep kan de Core dynamisch terugklokken tot 800 MHz om stroom te besparen (onbelast).

De Core 2 Duo T9900 kan gebruikt worden in een Socket P met 479 pinnen: Socket P / Micro Flip-Chip Grid Array (Micro-FCPGA) heeft een 479-pins Zero Insertion Force (ZIF) socket (mPGA479M socket) nodig of een of Micro Flip-Chip Ball Grid Array (Micro-FCBGA) voor surface mount (479-ball).
