Well, what can I say. The GL502VM is generally a good machine with the basic parts in place – 3D performance and keyboard. It also relatively smaller and more lightweight and the cooling system’s noise levels are relatively low no matter what. However, it has some noticeable downsides. The thermal performance is not as good as other machines with CPU/GPU reaching higher-then-90C degrees under very high load, connection ports selection is very limited, build quality is not that great for such a price compared to the others and most importantly, you can’t change the keyboard’s color to purple or green. It doesn’t have a Thunderbolt 3 port either.

Good news for the die hard gamers – the notebook keeps stable frame rates even after hours of gaming (although with relatively high surface temperatures). Upgrades are an easy task and the IPS screen screen has great potential which is fulfilled when used with our custom profiles. The Samsung SM951 M.2 NVMe SSD is blazing fast, but keep in mind that there are configurations with LiteOn CV1 on the market and the latter is much, much slower.

De productpagina van de laptop kan mooi adverteren dat het geluid geweldig gepositioneerd is voor een optimale beleving, maar daar is eigenlijk niks van waar. Het valt tegen en het geluid kan ook niet hard. En de behuizing heb ik ook niet de boxen die het geluid moeten produceren kunnen vinden, dus hoe ze erbij komen dat hij goed gepositioneerd is weet ik niet.

The display is also great thanks to the 1080p screen and other goodies. I think this rig can do anything a gamer is looking for – hence I can recommend it no problems!

Asus: ASUSTeK Computer Inc. is een grote Taiwanese fabrikant van computerhardware gevestigd in Taipei, opgericht in 1989. Onder de merknaam Asus produceert het bedrijf een breed scala aan producten, waaronder laptops, desktops, moederborden, grafische kaarten, monitoren, smartphones en netwerkapparatuur, complete systemen en pc-onderdelen voor eindgebruikers.
Onder de merknaam ROG (Republic of Gamers) produceert ASUS gaming laptops die bij gamers bekend staan om hun krachtige specificaties, speciale grafische kaarten, schermen met hoge verversingssnelheid en geavanceerde koelsystemen.
Naast gaming wordt een breed scala aan notebooks aangeboden voor verschillende behoeften en budgetten, van ultraslanke en lichtgewicht ultrabooks tot veelzijdige 2-in-1 convertibles en budgetvriendelijke opties. In 2023 had Asus wereldwijd een marktaandeel van 7% op de pc-markt.
De klanttevredenheid over ASUS-notebooks heeft betrekking op de prestaties, de functies en de goede prijs-prestatieverhouding van ASUS-notebooks. Zoals bij elk merk zijn er echter af en toe meldingen van problemen zoals oververhitting, drivercompatibiliteit of problemen met de bouwkwaliteit.
Deze middenklasse grafische kaarten kunnen alle huidige spellen vloeiend spelen. Veeleisende spellen kunnen alleen met gemiddelde detail instellingen gespeeld worden.
NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1060 Mobile:
De mobile GTX 1070 is gebaseerd op de GP106-chip en biedt 1280 shaders. Vergeleken met de identiek genaamde desktop-versie heeft de kaart een iets lagere kloksnelheid. Games zouden vloeiend speelbaar moeten zijn met deze kaart in Full-HD en met maximale detailinstellingen.
NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1070 Mobile:
Deze grafische kaarten zouden alle huidige spellen moeten kunnen draaien, maar de meeste spellen zullen alleen met gemiddelde of lage detail instellingen en lage resoluties goed werken. Oudere of minder veeleisende spellen kunnen nog wel met goede grafische instellingen gespeeld worden.
