EN→NLThe Acer Timeline 4810T is a solid system that offers exceptional battery life, portability and modest performance at a competitive price. As the name suggests, its key selling feature is the long battery life and it certainly delivers there. Currently retailing for $550*, we were satisfied with the Timeline's overall design and build quality. Ideally we could have used either a bit more processing power or a better quality screen, but for the price we have to admit what you get is more than adequate. With 4GB of RAM the Timeline is a happy multi-tasker also.

If you're in the market for a semi-portable business machine, then the Timeline 4810T is worth a look. Intel Graphics Media Accelerator (GMA) 4500MHD: Deze onboard (gedeeld geheugen) GPU is geïntegreerd in de GM45-chipset (Montevina). Door twee extra shaders en een hogere kloksnelheid is hij veel sneller dan de oude GMA X3100. Toch is hij niet aan te raden voor gamers (DirectX 10 games niet speelbaar of alleen met zeer lage grafische instellingen). De geïntegreerde grafische video processor kan de CPU helpen bij het decoderen van HD video’s, om zo het vloeiend afspelen van bijvoorbeeld Blu-Ray films toch mogelijk te maken met een trage CPU.
Deze grafische kaarten zouden alle huidige spellen moeten kunnen draaien, maar de meeste spellen zullen alleen met gemiddelde of lage detail instellingen en lage resoluties goed werken. Oudere of minder veeleisende spellen kunnen nog wel met goede grafische instellingen gespeeld worden.

14.0": 14 inch scherm grootte is een mengeling tussen het kleine subnotebook formaat en het 15 inch standaard scherm. De reden waarom zoveel mensen schermen kiezen van een gemiddeld formaat, is dat deze maat niet vermoeiend voor de ogen is, niet al te veel stroom verbruikt en dat de laptops redelijk compact blijven.

Acer: Acer Incorporated is een Taiwanese electronica fabrikant. Hun productlijn bevat zowel desktop computers als laptops, personal digital assistants (PDA’s), servers en opslag, schermen, randapperatuur, en e-business services voor bedrijven, overheid, scholen en thuisgebruikers. Acer is de derde grootste computer fabrikant in de wereld (op vlak van verkopen) na HP en Dell Inc. Het bedrijf heeft een eigen fabriek in Taipei, Taiwan. Hun orginele naam was Multitech, opgericht in 1976. Gateway en Pacard Bell zijn economisch met Acer verbonden.
